Just did mine, and after 13 months of driving in the Dallas area (70-80% in town driving), my old filter was not "clogged", but certainly dirty:
Also when changing the filter, take notice of the flow direction (sorry if already mentioned earlier in the thread!):
When installing the new filter, make sure to align it carefully in the plastic/hard carrier, so that you don't leave openings on the ends of the filter (two small fins catch the ends of the filter on purpose).
