I was thinking about plasti dipping my hood, this stuff is literally like spray on vinyl for half the cost at least. Has anyone tried this? Do I need to do anything about the chips and nicks or will this stuff seal them and keep them from getting worse? I think that the hood will be pretty easy considering there arent any lines to tape, I would just have to tape off for the overspray. I think the hardest part would be an even coat over the entire hood. However, when plasti dip dries it conforms to the hood and dries in an even consistent layer, as claimed by the website, but who knows if this is true.

If got the cans why not lol? Its cheap and gives me something to do and if I dont like it I can just pull it off! win win in my book.
so could you technically plasti dip the front end before a long road trip and use it like a temporary front end bra instead of taping? or would that not work?
i thought that was the whole point of this is that it peeels off easy? iv never used it so i dont know..... so it goes on just like spray paint light coats?
i dipped my front middle bumper piece, my rear H and si (removed civic altogether day i got the car lol) my gas cap, the rectangle shape around my rear license plate and was thinkin about doin my hood too, i say go for that ****
unless theres some sort of solvent or chemical in the spraycan that'd mess up the clearcoat. someone test it lol
well for example on wheels....wouldn't it peel off some of the clearcoat because its so sticky?
Its not really that sticky, its like vinyl, so anything the vinyl would pull off this will pull off and vice versa
DONT DO LIGHT COATS. I did light and thin coats when I plasti dipped my grill. That stuff is hard as a rock now.
