Vit, Let me answer it for you.

Gentlemen the DC2.2 cams Will make more power EVERYWHERE over stock cam because of the duration of the cam. These cams peak at 9200-9500RPM ( that doesnt mean to rev that high.) the Skunk2 Stage 1 cam is a great cam aswell but the peak point of that is 8400-8600 depending on the health of the engine and your mods. The main part of cams is you NEED a flowing header. No replica bullcrap like DC,Strup,PLM. its either a gopower header if you can find one or a skunk2 alpha/megapower
Great post, ill add also with cams need a ported RBC or port matched 72mm RRC.
the numbers you guys are showing are helping me figure out what my k24 will need, thanks
Im intrested in these cams and the valve train vit offers,

so i will gain about 15-20whp roughly over my i/h/e setup now?
How is daily driving with these and fuel mileage effected?
How they sound?
What is labor hours of install?
I see they make power at high rpm, what do i need to do to rev up to 9k etc. safely, Thanks
You'll need the A2 pump and then you can rev to 9k. Typically it's around $2k-2500 after purchase of cams, VT, install & tune.
Would u say different oil pump is a requirement for these?
Would u say different oil pump is a requirement for these?
No, Its not required but its suggested. i personally rev my stock pump to 8800. but im looking to get a RRC oil pump here soon, which is the same thing as a A2 pump just a direct bolt on

no but you should if you're revving over 8600
I'm looking to pick up some 2.2s here soon. Is supertech the way to go in terms valve train? DC has an October special on the 2.2s with valve train..$1249 shipped. Sounded pretty good to me.
drag cartel is having a black friday sale on these + supertech valvesprings/retainers for like $1250

DONE, thanks for the heads up.
so any update from people who have these cams?
What do you need to know?
im thinking these are going to be my next mod as im currently making 223whp with hybrid racing intake, skunk2 header and full race exhaust

wondering when the power band is for these compared to stock and how much power they add over stock cams, although when i add these i will also be getting a J37 throttle body and having my intake manifold port matched to it and i will also be getting the rsx type-s oil pump so i can rev to 9k, just hoping it will be worth the extra $1500 or so doing the swap
these cams pick up 15-20hp. you can tell for sure that the power last longer then stock cams. you pick up low end tq and of course top end.
sub'd - full of great info - glad to see dyno sheets and input from VIT

nice, i've installed cams on a b18 before but haven't had the chance to experience with the k20 yet so im gonna have them installed by a shop since im also getting the supertech valve springs with them

i wanted to get my manifold ported and port matched to a j37 throttle body along with the type-s oil pump conversion but those will have to wait

I would suggest getting the RRC oil pump. since it involves zero cutting and i found out from autofair honda that it has a lower pick up point for the oil which is better.

good to know, thanks !
I was reading somewhere here on 8th that the DC2.2 locks VTC at 42* - is there any truth to this? Something like they come with cam gears that eliminate VTC? Doesn't make sense to me why that would need to be done. Maybe using FP to limit VTC excursion, preventing interference instead?
The cams themselves DO NOT limit VTC Angle.
max rec VTC without clay is 42-43*.
Locking the VTC Electronically works but has been proven to sometime over shoot the target VTC.
Always rec the TracTuff Limiting Pin or a Machined VTC to 40*.

Now my question to all you that have tuned your 2.2's.
What's your low cam VTC?
I've successfully destroyed a new R40 TCT in a matter of a week. Teeth on the Ratchet and Piston worn to nothing.
I've had my VTC on the low cam at a max of 20-30* until about 4600 where I ramp up to meet the 40* on the High Cam at 4800 Crossover.
Am I running too much VTC? Crossover too low?
