My father has a 2006 Civic Ex with Nav coupe. Car has always been stock other than the donor parts it receives from my FA5 (suspension, wheels, etc.)

Recently the Cruise Control hasn't been working, the main light will come on "Cruise Main" but when you try to "set" it the second light won't come on nor will the cruise engage.

I've tried all different speeds and different gears and it won't go on. I briefly searched and saw one maybe 2 people had the same problem but this was years ago and no outcomes were determined. I also thought that maybe it was a fuse but I don't see a fuse that directly corresponds to the cruise control, if there is please show me.

Thanks for the help, I really don't want to take the car to the dealership mainly because it's out of the bumper to bumper warranty and I'm sure they'll charge and arm and a leg.

If you have a Helms mannual and want to see if there is a troubleshoot section for this and it leads me to fixing my problem, I'll paypal you some $$$$$ for some  for helping.

Did anyone come up with a solution to the cruise control issues? Mine wont engage either but will work fine if you hold the cruise button down as you press set but once you release the cruise button, it stops working.

I have a brake light out as well. Someone above said this might affect the cruise control? Any more info as to why?

Dear av911, Thanks for your answer. That gave me some ideas.
I'm talking from Brazil and I'm owner of a 2008 Civic Si Sedan, and, I got the same problem, the cruise control just stop to work.
For me was easy to analyse that problem because I'm a garage owner, I got a good scaner here, and, I did a lot of real time sensor tests to find out the problem.
In brake pedal, there is a sensor, but, that is 2 sensors inside of just one case, using the same rod, that pass trough the break lever.
There is four wires entering in that.
Positive, negative, One is for break lights, and another for cruise control, because of that, the break lights can be turned off, but the cruise control do not engage.
To test that is not easy if you don't have the proper equipment.
But, you can try lift up the front wheels, reach 40km/h or a little bit more, pull the rod of the break sensor up and try to engage the cruise control.
If that works, you can just adjust the brake sensor a little bit down from the original position, there is a thread you can adjust.
After you see that sensor, you'll understand what I was talking about.
Sorry about my english mistakes and, I really hope to help someone.

Is it a manual?? When I pull the clutch up with my toe, "rather than engaging it", my cruise works...! Jw If yours is the same! Might need to adjust the clutch pedal?! I JUST started researching...!
