-------------------ORIGINAL POST BELOW--------------------------

I came across these documents with tons and tons of information concerning every addon about our stereo systems and all stereo systems, regular, premium, and navigation.

Hopefully this can be pinned and help everyone out.

I probably can't do this all in one sitting there is so much information, so here we go. If you'd like anything specific, post and I'll see if I can find it.

Here are pictures of where the components are listed on each car (Sedan and Coupe)

Sedan

Coupe

All of this information is taken from a 2008 Honda Civic! From what i can tell though, all 06+ Civics follow this system.

Regular Stereo System (Not Premium, No amplifier)

Premium Stereo System (With Amplifier)

Navigation System (With Amplifier)

XM Receiver

Stereo Amplifier (Coupe and Sedan Pinouts are the same)

Auxiliary Jack

Pinout Tables

Note: The P after a number denotes the number of pins in the connecter (IE 17P = 17 pin connector)

Abbreviations
Det = Detection (This is a guess, I'm trying to make these a bit more clear, it isn't specified :S)
SIG = Signal
GND = Ground
SGND = Signal Ground (When there are 2 grounds, this is a guess again though)

Steering Wheel Audio Remote Switch
Here is some more information concerning the Audio Remote Switch on the steering wheel. The resistances change when a certain button is pressed, and here's a chart.
Button Pressed - Resistance
No button Pressed - ~10k ohms
MODE - ~6.0k ohms
CH (+) - ~2.0k ohms
Ch (-) - ~840 ohms
Volume Up - ~370 ohms
Volume Down - ~100 ohms

Bam, there is just about everything that I could find. I think if we pinned it, it would be a good help for lots of people :)

So anywhere to find the pinout breakdown of the navi unit itself? That would make wiring a navi-tv conversion easy to diy and I wouldn't have to spend $500 sending it out, you could wire up almost any av controller

I agree! Sticky :p

I did sit here for 2 hours typing and screen capturing every diagram you see :p

I'll look into my documentation later and see if I have what you're asking for.

Eclipse Steering Wheel Controls

Thanks for the great post, thanks to you I was able to get my Eclipse CD5030 head unit to work with my factory steering wheel controls. For those out there that have an Eclipse head unit you need to connect the Brown -B6 wire from the Honda Audio Unit Connector B to ground and the Pink - B7 wire from the Honda Audio Unit Connector B to the Eclipse Brown/Black wire (STEERING1).

I have a honda s2000 and you seem to be the only person that has managed to make a 5030 work with Honda's steering wheel remote.
I was wondering if you had any insigt. I would suspect there are some differences between the s2000 and the civic but I thought you might be able to look at this string and have some feedback.

S2KI - S2000 Forums -> Eclipse CD5030 Headunit Review and Question

Any assistance you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

Recurve,

Do you have a wiring schematic for an S2000's radio harness? It has been a while since I installed my head unit, but from what I remember you need to connect the Eclipse brown/black wire to the STEERING1 wire, in my Civic it was a pink wire. The other wire from the steering wheel you need to tie to any ground wire. Then you need to manually program the Eclipse head unit to train it for what each steering wheel button means.

I just bought a bazooka tube with FAST wiring harness for my 07 EX coupe w/ premium stereo. Pulled the dash apart last night and then realized that the FAST wiring harness I got in the mail for 'most Honda up to 2009' doesn't work... It's 20 PIN, and my car is 17 PIN - FUC*!!

It should be a pretty simple fix I'm told, but I am the last guy you want wiring anything in your car! On this harness there are 6 wires spliced into and they run to a bazooka tube harness. I need to transfer those 6 wires (w/ harness) from the 20 PIN I wasted my money on to the 17 PIN factory harness. I just don't know which ones to hook into...

Can anyone tell me where pin #'s 1, 3, 4, 9, 13, 14 on the 20 PIN (1721 harness) would connect on the 17 PIN (1722 harness)??? Once I figure this out I can run down the local stereo shop and using t-connectors 'splice' into the factory harness and put my dash back on so I get the things I miss back such as heat, air bags, music...

I purchased a 2007 Honda Civic EX-L 2DR and the navigation system was missing. The prior owner to me had an aftermarket system installed. I purchased an OEM Navi and thought I would just plug and play not knowing that an aftermarket was there. I plugged in the plugs that were there into the OEM Navi and I am getting no sound. It appears that the plugs for the sounds were cut to fit the aftermarket system he had. I have attached a picture. Below the fan are the two green slots, does anyone have the wiring information for those two plugs? I have looked for plugs everywhere and can not find them. The screen turns on and everything seems to work except no sound. I am also not sure what goes into the blue slot if anyone can help. My NAVI p/n is 39541-SWA-C010-M1. I am willing to listen to any suggestions. Thanks
