What’s up guys, I’ve done a ton of searching everywhere to try and figure this out but no definitive results, I know someone here will have some better info.
I just purchased an 06 Civic 5 speed 1.8 R18 with 125k miles.
-Issue: Intermittent chatter on clutch release that follows up thru the rpm band, meaning it’s rpm dependent. However, it’s a 50/50 issue. Sometimes it’s there sometimes it’s not.
** I drive between 2k- 3k rpm as this is my commuter car.
-Symptoms:
Clutch DOES hold strong and does NOT slip on heavy load.
Bad pressure plate, bearings?
Thanks in advance for the help everyone.

** I drive between 2k- 3k rpm as this is my commuter car.
-Symptoms:
- Whirring noise upon clutch pedal release in N.
- Chatter in lower gears, rpm dependent. 50/50 time.
- Medium level vibration between 50-65mph as well as vibration at idle and low frequency ruble noise over bumps. (Possibly unrelated due to visually bad lower rear motor/trans mount)
- Engagements seems rough (like on/off switch if not VERY slow on release)
- Squeal/whine on downshift as rpm increases to match lower gear (chatter comes more often than not at this point)
- Consistent CREAK when depressing or releasing clutch pedal.
- When applying heavy throttle, car initially bogs down for a second then continues normal accel.
- When chatter does not present itself during normal operating rpms, continuing up past 3500rpm I get a different mechanical rattle not as loud or bad sounding.
Clutch DOES hold strong and does NOT slip on heavy load.
