So I spoke with Honda and they claim it is a known issue already and sounds like all 2006-2011 Honda’s with Navi are affected by this. Honda stated they have no fix as of today but have their team looking into it to find a potential correction whether that be a software update or recall etc. so any owner if this era of Honda with Navi will be notified when or if they come up with a solution.

Thanks. I posted elsewhere, but my 2007 Civic Hybrid NAVI has the same issue.

Happening on all oem nav units. It was not expected to last long. I think a group is making a petition to get it pushed under some sort of recall like there was with paint

Not expected to last long? They said it will fix itself in August 2022. That's 8 months.

To me, that's long.

I did file a problem report American Honda. I suggest everyone do the same - that's the only way they'll feel the urgency going up.

Not a bad idea, but supposedly Honda is already on it. Let's hope they come up with a solution sooner rather than later and that it costs us nothing.

Yeah, I guess you could call that a beneficial side effect.

But the problem is Honda's are SO DARN RELIABLE.

270,000 miles. My car has a little rust around the rear wheel wells and the hood.

I've replaced:
Spark plugs (all 8) once (trying to clear the Check Engine light)
EGR valve once (same as above)
Mass Air Flow Sensor once (same as above)
Lower O2 Sensor once (same as above)
Upper (GEEZE) O2 sensor once (same as above)
Cleaned out the EGR gallery (which was full of carbon) which fixed the Check Engine Light.

Next time that code pops, I'll start with the EGR gallery.

What I'm getting at is this:
No mystery problems (like my Dodge Stratus which would just have the engine shut off while driving - turned out to be a $700 fuel pump issue), or when it would go into Limp mode every few years (because the input / output speed sensors which were mounted in the engine in a way where you had to be a contortionist to get to them) would get fouled with metal chips and go blind), or when I tried to do a tune up and found all the spark plug galleries full of oil, and then the distribution just decided to fail so back to the shop for $1200 of work.

I have no maintenance on the Honda other than that, and replacing the rear shock absorbers.

The Honda cars are indefatigable. That's why I'll buy another.

I agree with this 100%. No car is perfect, but the amount of driving I do and at my age, I don't want a car that is going to be maintenance (repairs as well) intensive. That is for the birds. Our clocks and calendars are on the fritz. Honestly, who cares. It is going to right itself in several months. I personally have 322,000 miles on my 07 EX sedan and have had to replace the A/C compressor, starter, Alternator, rear shock absorbers, exhaust (from the muffler and back) and a couple of calipers, oh, and an engine mount. All were easy to do (except the compressor, had to loosen the subframe to get it out. Will I purchase a Honda again? Damn right I will. That being said, I also have a Toyota 4Runner. Thus far, 184,000 later, nothing (no big mechanical issues). My rear pinion bearing is failing, but I do plan on getting that fixed. American/European/Korean cars are invisible to me.

That's a point I think we can all agree on.

I did have to replace my front sway bar links. One of them broke. But again, the Dodge stuff was <100,000 miles, which to me is inexcusable. This car has things wearing out at 150,000 or 250,000 miles and up.

And once fixed, they stay fixed. They really are well-engineered cars.

Well, at least it isn't like that annoying, flashing 12:00 12:00 12:00 when your appliances lose power.

I did some searches - this has some media attention in the UK and some of the auto blogs, not much else.

No solution yet. Apparently, something similar happened in 2017.

I tried to reset my NAVI clock again yesterday (since why not, I was waiting). It still defies any attempts to reset it.

I tried going to all NOs on the clock set page. Nope, still won't let me reset it.

If you have not gone to your countries Honda location and filed a request for repair, please do so. The more people we get squeaking about this, the sooner the pressure will be up to resolve it.

Going to add my name on here . Thank God for Honda forums. I own a 08 CSX type s , I’ve been thinking about a new head unit for a while , didn’t want the wiring hassle , still haven’t clued in.
My clock reads Jan 1 2002 as well.
considering the Spanish guys’ option of disconnecting gps altogether !?I don’t use it … I know these rural areas too well….

I haven't tried disconnecting the GPS antenna. It would seem that once you connect it, you're going to get the same problem. It seems to be very deep in the dash. I think I'll wait for August to roll around.

With the cost of upgrades as high as they are, I use my Garmin as my primary GPS, and I use the Honda unit as a backup. I still use it - it's a good way to spot restaurants and what not.

Same message on mine after trying to update maps about a week ago, put my old disc back in, reads that one ok, still have wrong date,time issue though

From what I have read, it is a coding issue. When the GPS satellite rolled over it's 1024 months, a gap in the code caused this issue.

It is supposed to self-resolve in August of 2022. We'll see. That's 7 months away.

FUNNY I JUST HAD TO ORDER A BRAND NEW NAVIGATION HEAD UNIT, FORTUNATLY I WORK IN THE FORD PARTS FIELD AND ACTUALLY DO A LOT OF BUSINESS WITH HONDA OF WATERTOWN SO I WAS ABLE TO GET IT AT APROX .15% OVER COST, SO $710.00 WAS WORTH IT TO ME. INSTALLED IT, INSTALLED NEWEST TEAL NAVIGATION CD AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE DAMN CLOCK AT FIRST WAS ALWAYS AT 3:00, FIDDLED AROUND WITH IT AND MANAGED TO HAVE IT NOW AT 4:00. GLAD I HOPPED ON HERE TO TAKE A PEEK AND SEE IF I WAS SIMPLY MISSING SOMETHING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM MY SERVICE WRITER AFTER SHE BECAME PREGNANT AND A COUPE AND 6SPD WAS NOT GOING TO BE HELPFUL WITH A BABY AND SINCE I HAVE BEEN ITCHING FOR ANOTHER STANDARD I JUMP ON IT. ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE NAVIGATION UNIT. I LIKE TO KEEP MY CARS AS STOCK AS POSSIBLE WITH VERY SUBTLE UPGRADE AS FAR AS INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR APPEARANCES, BUT UNDER THE HOOD I HAVE SOME PLANS.
