I have 2010 Civic LXS auto transmission jerks a little hesitate to shift at low rpm, slow speed, for example when i'm at stop sign and push a little on gas pedal the car jerks moves forward and back little. it's like transmission trying to find the correct gear to engage. When i push hard on gas pedal transmission shift fine from 1st to 2nd to 3rd.
I changed the transmission fluid with Honda ATF it looks it helped a little and eased the jerks, but they still there.

Has anyone have this problem? what did you do about it?

Could be the Engine Mount (Commonly the Passenger side), or possibly a Tranny issue. Before changing the ATF, when was the last time it was changed? If it's unknown, you might want to change it another 2 times (once a week - drain and fill). If you want a cleaner tranny, I would also throw in the inline transmission filter which is behind the air box.

I changed all my mount's to fix the jerking issue and it's not a problem anymore. It does do it a tiny but every once in a while when it's moving. Its just a poor design from Honda.

For mileage, it could be as early as 50K. I would check the condition of the ATF now and see if it still needs to be changed. When i changed my ATF (possibly factory fluid at 155k), I did a drain and fill once every 3 weeks and at the last fluid change I switched out the inline transmission filter. It's now red like it should be.

Check all the Engine Mounts first though. Here's a YouTube video on how to check:

Thank you for your recommendation about checking engine mount. Yes when i changed the old transmission fluid it was dark brown, not black. Did you notice gear hesitation at engaging at slow speed, low rpm, from 2nd gear to 3rd gear when you bought your car?

This jerkiness and hesitation doesn't happen always, but if i drive slow and purposely trying to make the jerkiness happen from 2nd gear to 3rd, i keep the rpm at 1500 rpm then slowly i will notice hesitation to engage into 3rd gear, it's like the car moves forward and backward, eventually it will engage into 3rd gear but that will take few seconds, if i need to shift faster into 3rd gear then i can push gas pedal harder, the rpm will be between 2000_2500 rpm, car will shift faster though with little jerkiness. I think it's civic transmission flaw many people on this forum complained about the same issues that i'm having now, though their vehicles were bought new.

How much millage can someone expect from these 8th generation Hondas civic?

Check the basics and start with fuel pressure.
Thanks for mentioning that. I think my civic now acts more normal than the week before and hestitate less when shifting lower gears, from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd after I changed transmission fluid, could be PCM learning my driving habits🤔.? I'll see after a month or so how it goes..

My 2008 has a bit of a jerk between 1st and 2nd at slow speeds. Not sure about 2nd to 3rd. Shifts are a little sloppy on these cars but whatever.

I would say not to really worry about it. Our gen 8 is not known for automatic transmission problems. Just keep on top of the fluid changes.

If you were to take it to a shop, they would recommend having the whole thing rebuilt. NOT necessary. Shops always recommend rebuilding everything just to make money.

I have the 1st, and 2nd gear jerk when going slow as well. When i changed all the mounts I just learned that I will have to live with it.

I agree with what you said about the transmission problems. The Honda trannys aren't known for being the best. Manual transmissions is where Honda excels.

Thanks. I've also noticed recently when driving on third gear driving between 26-30 mph there a little whine once the transmission goes into the 4th gear and speed up above 30 mph the whine becomes less.

I also agree with what you said about the Transmission problems. These 8th gen trannys just aren't the best. If we are talking about a Manual one, then it's a different situation as it's a good transmission.
Did you hear a little whine when driving in any of the gears in your car, I've heard little whine between those speeds 26-30 mph on 3th gear in my car. Thanks
