hi when im driving or starting in first and try to do red line.

the car wont make it pass 6400 k it like stopsand wants me to switch.

i have 95k on it. no spark plug change or belt and pulley change. i hear belt noise. can that be it

it wont do vtec

Why do you want to rev so high in neutral or first gear? I know the car has a fuel cut off at around that RPM range when you're in neutral, so you don't burn the clutch, but I was not aware of first gear fuel cutoff being that low - usually around the 8k range.

Check the oil, if oil is low ecu will not let you rev into vtEc cuz of oil being low and it will put you in safe mode, any codes?

vtec on stock motor is at 6000 or so.... 7000 will be well into vtec

all the lights came on.

then i could not drive more then 20mph and the car would die on when stop.


i took it the mechanic hook it up to computer and came up maf sensor

he clean it and clear the code.

but i havent test it to 7k rmp yet.

welll i put oil clean the maf sensor and car is still cutting fuel at 6500.

i push it to limit on video 2 and that what happen.


my mechnaic said it might be the cat goin bad.

when on the computer came up as maf been mess up. so he clean it.

can that be the problem?

could it be the fuel filter? Or fuel cage thing? I'm not saying it is but maybe some one with more experience can comment on this.

wouldn't replacing the maf make it work?


even the exhaust sounds like it has a leak when warming up

i had the same problem but would only happen if it was hot out since its been cold it goes back to normal even took to my dealer and they couldnt figure out the problem
