Ok guys so here is the deal. I installed my hybrid shifter bushings and now I'm having trouble getting into gears more. I have a ss adapter but there wasn't an issue before installing the bushings. I'm gonna use my third gear as an example but it happens with first and 5th gear too. I pop the clutch in to put in 3rd and it goes in but then when i start to lift the clutch up the shifter moves a tiny bit farther up. It feels like it clicks almost. I haven't grinded any of the gears yet but it is much harder to shift now.

Anyone have any suggestions. When I installed the bushings I did not pull on the cables at all or bend anything. They actually went in pretty easy.

My first opinion is may e I need to replace my shifter cables but I want to get opinions before spending that kind of money and time.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't think you moved or bent the cables that much, then I'd say thats prob not the problem, although i've heard it doesnt take much to kink them. Is the counterweight down by the slave cylinder getting stuck on something? I had that issue with the hoses from my CAI getting caught up in the counterweight and not alllowing me to put it in 1st,3rd,and 5th.

There is a little play in the one bushing that sits flat but hybrid said that was normal. I just looked at them and I think the cable for the small one closest to the motor is bent a little. I don't know if its always been that way or if that's new. It's bent a little outward away from the motor.

Seriously?!? Why don't you do some research before saying something like that.

OP, try installing the oem again and see if the problem goes away.
My thoughts exactly on why I switched them in the first place.....lol

I wish I could put the stock ones on but the wife threw them away when she was going through the garage........pi**ed me off.

lol that sucks i would of flipped out on her. Im almost positive u bent the cable. These stock cables suck suck suck, hence why i have the uprated hybrid shift cables. Cause if u didnt bend them getting in and out of gear would be even easier than before with the hybrids as i use to have the hybrid bushings.

This was my problem for over 7 months and could not figure out what was the issue because at the time I had installed short shifter, solid base bushing and shifter bushing so I didnt know where to start until when I reinstalled my transmission and went ahead and did the swap with the OEM shifter bushing and can I tell you it was the best OEM MOD I ever did on my car lol.
Smoother shifts especially in 1st to 2nd and no more forcing it into gear! If I were you I would get some OEM replacement and tell your wife stay out of your man cave..lol.

Well just an update. I bought a twm shifter off a member on here and just installed it. Problem solved. I had the stage 2 replacements for a little while but didn't have the cable bushings at the time. He said the one I bought was stage 1 but it feels almost identical to the stage 2 so im very happy with it and no more problems shifting.
