Hello, I know people probably have had this discussion before but we are in 2021 and all those forms are from 06+ lol. But I was considering doing a skunk2 racing the mega r but that's just so common and I don't want to sound like a fart can. I would go j racing but don't got that money. So maybe skunk2 and what header or hks, full race, or whatever yall think I want to be loud asf. and also considering the buddy club pro but not sure what header to use with that.

So you want it to be loud but not sound like a fart can? Lol. I have the Skunk2 Alpha and Full Race 3 inch exhaust and it’s the perfect sound to me, it’s deep, low drone when daily driving and loud when in VTEC. If loud is all you’re looking for then just get the Skunk2 Alpha and cat back and hate yourself in a few months

Tnks I’ll look into it
From what I have gathered, the header isn't going to make a huge difference in sound in regards to different manufacturers. A catless header will be louder during WOT than a catted header or the stock header. If you want a "cheaper" exhaust the Rev9 is supposed to be a replica of the full race design. But with these motors the last thing you want is a raspy sounding exhaust. And there are some places to cut corners, but mufflers aren't typically one of them.

Correct, header mostly change the tone but don’t cheap out on the exhaust. Get the full race and be done with exhausts

I got the Rev9 clone of the Full Race. It was $550 canadian and a PLM header was $400. I got the plm motor mount too. I have a Injen CAI that I haven't installed yet, but am happy with the setup for now. All under 1k Canadian.
I didn't realize that PLM made a motor mount. Which version of the PLM header did you buy? The v1 (4 piece with slip joints) or the v2 (all welded 1 piece)

Slip joint(v1) will make more powah but it leaks when cold until the joints heat up. the v2 does not but makes less powah, according to PLM rep. I talk to them Friday, they said no motor mount was needed, but my lower is shot and I will be replacing. BTW that invidia I ordered? Yeah it said available but now it's on backorder, so I am now the proud owner of a 3in Full Race Exhaust which is currently staring at me but cannot be installed due to lack of 70mm downpipe. PLM said lead time is 4 weeks, Skunk2 is telling me June for an Alpha series header.

Did you use the supplied bolts to secure the slip joints? They seem extra weak to me so I went out and bought some need hardware and red loctite on the bolts
Ya everything was in the kit! Just let the pipes fill themselves in with exhaust dust to seal up. To be honest the worst part was waiting for all the penetrating lube to burn off after getting the old one off. Im sure youd have this problem with a S2 header. I trust youll enjoy!

I've had a PLM v1 sitting in my closet for like 5 years. The Invidia has done me proud but I need more power...just too lazy to jack the car up/replace/tune
Honestly, I blown away if the PLM v1 made a significant amount of power over the Invidia... It does have longer primary runners, so it probably will gain some mid range torque.
