So i just did a clutch job and changed cmc and smc on my 07 si not to long ago. And i noticed today that in 5th gear for about a few seconds it will pop out. It's happening occasionally . This is the only gear i have an issue with. Car has 131k with no mods and i have heard that maybe possible mtf fluid can be the problem or could it be the shift linkage. I believe my mechanic used oem honda mtf. Your help will be appreciated.

Check the cables and if the mechanism is clear of interference

My third gear used to pop out every once in a while. It happened for around 3000 miles then it went away. I did change out the mtf though.

Sorry to revive an old thread. Were you able to get this fixed? I recently had the same work done on my 07 Si Coupe and started having the 5th gear issues. Any help would be appreciated ~
