Has anyone had a longer (4.0-4.1)FD for daily? I'm thinking about getting one to help drop my rpms on the highway since I spend about %50 of my driving time at +65mph. Just wondering how big of a difference it is from stock. Based on the math it's not a large percentage difference ~%5. I know my car will be "slower" but with the KW I plan on getting I don't think it'll matter much to me. I know a lot of people go the opposite direction.

You would be sabotaging everything that's fun about the car if you ran that FD. It's already gutless at low rpm and would become even more so. Don't know where that 5% number came from, it's closer to 15%. Changing 6th gear would be a much better solution.

If your concern is fuel economy, forget it, the rpm isn't as big a factor as you think, at least not at the speed limit. If your issue is obnoxious exhaust sound, then maybe get a less obnoxious exhaust.
