Dealerships have been saying that the 08's will be out shortly. This is good and bad.

Good if you want the last of the 07's and don't want a possible 08 dealer mark up.
Bad if you want an 08 cause there will most likely be a mark up.

07's are still rare so don't expect an end of the year discount.

best day to buy a car: december 31.
Ehh I can see why you'd think that, but I'm not sure thats particularly true. Best day would be the day before the new model year rolls around... which is usually in the fall. But then again, you'd have to know the exact date.

best days are late Jan - late Feb when people have no money after xmas
to buy expensive things. this is when dealers give out the best incentives.

or early fall when the old inventory needs to be liquidated.

Actually, dealerships will discount 07 Si's. Regardless of the car, they have to clear lot space for incoming 08s. Will it be the same discount you can expect on an Accord? Of course not. But would the discount be better than on a S2000? You bet. Timing is everything--aim for the end of August.

Not necessarily. You can get the same deal on a rainy day or at the end of the month. I bought mine before the Honda special APR's left. 4.9% financing is nice.
