I believe all civics aside from the hybrid are produced in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. So the tranny problem will be for all cars, just that there're less of them sold in canada so less complaints.
Do the US models have daytime running lights though? I think that might be one thing that needs installation if you bring a US car back up.
Ya, I woulda bought from the US too, if I had the resources to go down there and get a dealer to sell me, and of course the time to do it. Don't worry about it tho OP, I'm sure you'll love your car either way

Ya i jsut bought mine from the states. I have VSA but did not want Navi, didn't want to spend another 2000 for that, since it is not very important to me.
Some dealerships sell to Canadians and some don't. This one does because they told me they own alot of other dealerships around the states too that Honda would never shut them down, so they just take the risk and sell to Canadians.

Maaaan... maybe I shoulda gotten from the states too...

You'll love it once you get it...and it's VERY tough to stay away from VTEC for the first little while...actually I slipped a couple of times

I purchased the Nighthawk Black Pearl coupe, and put 20% tint on it...looks pretty awesome!

I almost bought the TW...I suppose if I show up at your TW meet and greet I'll be the odd one out...hahahaha

After meeting a bunch of 8th civic guys tonight, I wouldn't be too worried about being the odd one out haha... everyone's cool Congrats on the purchase! I stayed away from vtec until I hit 1300 km lol... and then I stopped doing it daily after realizing the amount of gas it drains.

But seriously, I never knew what the hype about vtec was before, until owning this car... maan... :vtec: ftw!!

I think they actually DO offer below 20% tint... I think limo tint is like 5% or something? But ya, it's just that the installer will probably make you sign something saying that you'll take responsibility of cops / accidents, cos honestly, you can't see ANYTHING at nite with limo tint lol...

Hey Sam, I'm actually in the RHill area a lot, but if it was Mon, Tues, Weds then it wasn't me. If it was last thurs, fri or sat it might've been me cos I was in the area then.

I was there today too, getting my tranny fluid changed and having dinner with the gf... saw a white CSX-S going SB on Markham Rd at 401 intersection at 4. Then I saw a white FG2 at East Beaver Creek waiting to turn EB onto 7 at around 9. There're SOOOO many TWs around (not to burst ur bubble there ll_TW_Si_ll LOL)

i saw one turning right heading eastbound off a side street on to 16th yesterday .. i thought it was gonna catch up but it got caught behind a lot of cars..

Haha... the mod bug will eventually bite. I'm pretty sure of it. It'll probably start off slow, but eventually just do the small budget mods for now... like front lip overlaying (I'm just gonna go get 3M automotive vinyl and DIY)... maybe foglights, shiftknob, deadpedal, lowering spring...
