Hi guys, anyone have issues with clunking of the standard 5spd auto transmission after you backed off the throttle then put your foot down again.

Almost like there's slack in the drive shaft to gearbox gears somewhere?

CV joints are good and the gearbox specialist who took it for a spin says the gearbox is good and can be reset with computer by Honda dealer?

Well Honda said no It can't be, only give you a fault if a solenoid not working which will come up on the dash anyway.

Bit lost as to this one, any help would be great!

Just audible, like it's taking up slack in the gears when you cruising down the highway and take your foot off then put it down again just like clunks or sharp thump!

Not sure if backlash in the gears??

Thanks guys, I've had the car into a gearbox specialist for a check over and a birthday.
Apparently it's quite normal on Honda civics to have that little bit of play in the drive line.
The mounts were all checked and OK!
After an oil change it seems to run smoother and not as clunking as before.

Cheers for the feed back everyone!🤟
