Just recently bought a 2006 Civic LX and have been getting Idle vibration issue. Tried all the standard fix including replacing spark plugs, battery, EGR valve, serpentine belt, passenger side motor mount, cleaning MAF and primary O2 sensors, cleaning throttle body and recalibrating it with Foxwell scanner but issue still persists. No engine lights or any other issues but when car is in gear and idling it randomly starts vibrating and shaking a bit. Turning on AC or front window defogger or turning steering wheel immediately resolves issue temporarily. The issue can be reproduced when wipers, hazard lights are turned on or when using power windows. Mechanics including one at the dealer not sure of cause of issue. Idle speeds seems within specs ranging from 620-650 at idle and increase to 750-800 when turning on AC or turning steering wheel. Any ideas on what it could be as it is extremely frustrating to deal with on a otherwise good car?

I have a 2008 Civic EX and recently replaced the R18 engine with a salvage import due to the cracked block issue (144k miles). The replacement engine had a similar idle issue with no codes and my local shop couldn’t “replicate or diagnose”. Only occurred when in gear and stopped at a light or in process of parking. Finally after several months, I got an engine code for a bad ignition coil on one of the cylinders. Since I had “spares” from the original engine, I swapped out the affected cylinder coil pack which seemed to resolve the issue. I’ve only noticed the idle vibration once or twice in the 2 months since then (far less than before), which I suspect may be another coil pack that just hasn’t thrown a code yet? If it gets worse I’ll switch out more of the coil packs.

I did buy some used coil pack and replaced all of my coils but issue still persisted. Trying now with fuel injector cleaner and next will be an intake cleaner. Not sure what else to try at this point.

Grasping at straws here, but maybe see what your battery voltage does when you trigger the vibrations? I notice all of those triggers are electrical related and it occurs to me that your battery/alternator not working together correctly may be causing problems. I know there's also some kind of current dependent voltage adjuster that could be acting up. Haven't ever had to diagnose one and don't really want to look up the name. If it was me I would check directly on the terminals as well as in the fuse box and compare the two voltages.
Any bearing or belt noises?

I did check the battery voltage with multimeter and it seems normal under load and idle. Even put in a new battery. Issue seems what ever is regulating idle rpm let's it drop more than it should. Also mines is US made car so RPM is set 100 less than Canadian version. Car is now in Canada do combination of lower RPM and weather perhaps a factor.

Passenger side motor mount was changed just a month ago and vibration did reduce but did not disappear. Visually the remaining mounts look fine far as I can see but will try to upload some pics later today to see if anyone can spot anything.

I also have a some vibration issues in a 2008 civic lx with 28,000 miles. It only does it warmed up in gear at low idle 600-650 rpm with no load. AC defroster or steering wheel smooth it out as well. My motor mounts look fine. I heard that the vibration is just a standard civic problem of this generation.

I, too, have some vibrations. Front passenger motor mount was replaced a couple of years ago. Vibration was reduced, but still there. Motor mount under the motor appears to be fine too. I'm at 266K miles, so I shouldn't complain, but it would be nice to have a smooth engine. When new, it didn't vibrate like this.

Replaced MAF sensor, PCV valve and transmission mount today and vibration issue at idle and while using Hazzard lights fixed. Not sure which part replaced the problem but glad car finally drives smoothly without idle vibration. Both my motor and transmission mounts looked fine visually so visual inspection is not enough to determine if it needs replacing.

You just accepted that you are unsure which part replacement fixed the problem (MAF sensor, PCV valve and transmission mount). Therefore, saying, "Both my motor and transmission mounts looked fine visually so visual inspection is not enough to determine if it needs replacing" is illogical.
