I'm guessing it will depend on the offset and if you have a drop. I also think you have to dial in some camber or something to prevent the rubbing. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to suspension. I'm sure you will get an answer soon from those in the know.

Depends on offset. Prob work w/ 45 offset, but anything less than that you can probably expect rubbing.

Yeah 8.5 wide is kinda big. isnt a 45 offset kinda pushing it though? I mean thats what he'd need but those might stick out a lil too far.

If you're getting a tire that wide I'd definitely look into something like the Nitto Neogens that are designed to evenly disperse tread wear. I guess of course it depends more on your current suspension but getting this type of tire wouldn't hurt either way.
