Im bout to head out to the local 1/8th mile track to practice my take-offs before the 1/4 mile track opens up in March. Just wondering what some of the fastest N/A 1/8th mile times were and what mods each person had. I know this race is not as popular as the 1/4 mile but just wanted to see some numbers. I will check this thread periodically and try to keep a list of the fastest 1/8th mile times in order.
So post up those time slips and lets see what everyone's putting down in the 1/8th. (Even if you were running the 1/4, post up what your 1/8th time was)!

Yeah dude look forward to seein ya. Im workin right now on getting my header ordered. Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week and installed next weekend. Im kinda anxious to see how my 1/8th times are gonna turn out after that. I got I/E and FP along with ETD, TBS, and TWM SS. So i'll be running just a base map tune for intake and header but im shooting for low 9's high 8's. But we'll see. Just depends on if they prep the track right.

sounds good, but dont look for good #s at mooresville since the track is uphill and shotty. i will never go back there again. zmax is much better. im interested in seeing what i clock when its cold now, since all my runs were in 95 degree heat.

did you wanna get a tune, i know someone who tunes real good.

Six Sigma Dyno

see john. he is real nice and a hell of a tuner. he tuned my car and gained 43 whp midrange and 30ft tq midrange. he's in concord.

they help for more than the 60 ft.,I spin through 2nd if I floor it and speed shift,so if you are spinning past the 60 ft. DR's or slicks will help out more.

.1 in the 60 foot is easily .2 in the 1/4 mile and it helps your 1/8 out a lot. If i turned a 2.0 60 ft yesterday when i went, i'd have probably run a 13.7.

Yeah i've been by there to talk to them about tuning but I didnt want to do any pro tuning until I get atleast I/E and Header. Plus I asked how much they would charge and he said it would be $400 something! But yeah the only reason im goin to mooresville is to just practice my takeoffs for z-max. I just need to get over that initial adrenaline rush when I pull up to the line. Last time I ran at zmax, I got a little too nervous (lol) and dropped the clutch a little too quick at a low RPM and bogged the car down. It was pretty bad. lol

AEM SRI
Tsudo 70mm

Flash Pro
ETD
and something else thats in shipment to me that will be my little secret for a while. (just to make the locals wonder what it might be) ;)
And probably only weight reduction will be the spare till I run the 1/4 in March, then im gonna take out the back seat, spare, and all the linings!

How far does the vht at your track go? I have seen only small "chirps" into second gear out of my entire track experience for a front wheel drive car with less than 210whp.. Did you run the car on a cold day, what was your tire pressure set at?

you are correct..what was your tire pressure set at and what type of weather did you have?

VHT??? I don't even think they lay it down on my track....but if they did I'd say that it goes no futher than the 60 ft.I've been able to spin them into third during TX summers with fairly sticky tires(I had my BFG's so sticky they were picking up rocks like DR's would).I would say I have less than 210 whp as well .My point is on tracks where there is limited grip I think DR's make more of a difference.

i got mine tuned for 350 and then i needed a walbro 255lhp fuel pump cuz he couldnt get any more fuel past 6500rpm so then he charged me 50 for a retune.
yeah about that nervousness at the stageing line, ive ran my car over 50 times there and i still get stage fright. not from other cars but from worrying if my car will break before the 1/4 is up. i am real hard on my car when i race and powershift 100% of the time. with the way our trannies are built it makes me nervous when i powershift. now that i have the twm ss i dont really need to powershift but im gonna do it anyway. i feel this way, if you get on the track you should drive that car to its full potential otherwise dont run the car at all and sit on the sideline spectating. if you want good #s you need to be hard on the car otherwise its not worth it. no point in grannyshifting.

Hell yeah to that man. Well the last time I ran was my first time. I was going to run again that night but the line was so long there was no way I would have gotten to run again by the time the shut everything down so I just went out to get something to eat. But i'll probably see ya up there in March. Ill be in the fiji coupe so keep an eye out for me!
