I had the exact same issue with my 07 Si. There is a Guy in Florida who rebuilt one for me with out a core for 2180.00 shipped, mine has upgrades. Normal Rebuild using Honda OEM Synchros with the updated 2nd gear and 3rd gear sleeves and OEM LSD is 1560.00. I can get you his info if you would like, it is well worth it as he is better priced than Synchrotech. and buying used. Used i was quoted 2100.00 to 2800.00 for used.

Mine locked up in 5th one cold morning, like -23 degrees, the car ran for 45 min that morning due to the really poor shifting experiance. I tried to downshift at a light, couldnt find 3rd, went to 2nd, made some really bad noise, went to 3rd again, nothing. Couldnt find 4th, went to 2nd again and Bang. Locked up so hard the VSS came on and the car spun 180 at 20 mph. snow on the ground mind you.

I had the 3rd gear grind issue BTW*** NOT GOOD FOR YOUR TRANS OR YOUR WALLET!

I brought my tranny and just swapped k20 type r gears in my k20z3 trans case and I put everything all back correctly and bleed my clutch a few times, every gear works fine but 2nd gear is grinding bad and it can't even go into get gear, do you know what could be the problem?

Is the Cable assembly binding up? chance that maybe the plastic retainer that hold the cables in place has broken? guessing since you swapped internals over, your mechanically inclined, and I dont mean that in a mean way either. I went through everything when my trans gave up. checked cables, everything. It was stuck in gear as well. mine felt like the clutch was not fully disengaging to start with.

Did honda also have the sleeve issue with the type R internals as well? I never came across it during my searching on any site. but I didnt search specific type R info either.

yeah I check the cables while it shifts and it doesn't move up or doesn't move around..when I did the type r swap in the tranny, I told the mechanic to call me if anything was broken or wouldn't fit in the si trans case and he didn't call me, all he told me that my speedometer will not read the right speed but when I drove it around the block, seems like it reads the right speed..I'm still trying to figure out the problem right now

I'm having my 07 civic si transmission rebuilt by synchrotech they gave me a tour of their facility and I'll say this those guys sure know they're k series tranny they are rebuilding my tranny for 1200.00 but then again I live about 2 hours away. They inspected mine for free gave me a full breakdown of the damage and I'll pick it up Monday maybe you should check em out. Not bad on pricing either and your tranny will look brand spanking new.I'm getting their carbon synchros and a new 2nd gear I had the same problem just a huge pain in the ass to out it into gear then the grinding wouldn't stop easier to have then rebuild it then to getting a slightly used one or having some shop get you for 2k-3k

I had problems shifting in 1st 2nd and 3rd. And couldnt shift into reverse. I got the new updated cmc and smc and adjusted the cmc. With a new exedy oe replacement clutch with new shifter fork. It shifts like butter and I can reverse again. Weee

Shortly after replacing my clutch with Exedy Stg 1(@10k miles), my gears were really notchy especially when engaging Vtec. Sometimes it didn't want to come out of 1st or reverse. Also when sitting at light with the clutch pedal depressed the motor would hesitate because the clutch was still engaging the flywheel. No wonder the gearbox was notchy. I had slave cylinder, master cylinder and rubber clutch hose replaced with Honda oem parts and it has been great.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but did you ever find out what it was? I seem to be having the same problems recently. Same 2007 Si Coupe around 104K miles. Recently had the clutch replaced 1.5 years ago

Make sure the clutch line is fully bled and it is adjusted properly. This is a good video on how to do it.
