A r18a from 2010 or 2011 is the most economical and easies option.

Swapping in a si motor is expensive. If you want a k20 civic, partout or sell your base model civic and buy a si.

Yep, definitely put a 2010 or 2011 R18 in. I put a 2011 engine in my 2008 a couple years ago. I paid $400 for a 2011 engine with 84k miles on it. 40,000+ miles later it is still working great.

I'm currently swapping out my engine in my car. Due to the engine blowing up. All I'm going to say is make sure you are prepared. It's now the 5th month without my vehicle. Time and money.
