u must have mistaken me for a n00b...K-Pro is Hondata
and they are not "easier to tune" with set maps....because set maps are just that, set, flashes and not tuneable.
"DAD DAD YOU BOUGHT ME A CAR?!?!"Oh, he can drive. He's been driving since he was like 12. (in the country of course) He has is learners permit and will soon be getting his hardship, until he turns 16 in March. Like I said, he has driven a car with much more horsepower (although to the rear-wheels) in the past.
Yeah, I've planned on putting the keys in a box under the tree. The blinds will be closed and when he looks outside... there it will be, with a big red bow on top. You know, when you have kids you always dream about days like this. For once, it's going to actually happen. Now we just need to work on that acceptance into Harvard or maybe Annapolis. haha
I didnt mistake you for one...you sound like one.u must have mistaken me for a n00b...
i know K-Pro is Hondataat:
u also misunderstood what i said...what i meant was those cars already have set tunes from Hondata that u can put on the ECU, hence y i said "easy to tune" b/c all u have to do is send it to an authorized dealer and have them put the map on there...
ohh and they can also add a VAFC to this car to tune it even more...
1st please don't attack mods as noobs...the are here to help...Hondata does not have an endless list of reflashes available. Show me where there is such a reflash or as you call it a "set tune" for a k20/24 frank. Here is the reflash page for the K series:
K-Series Reflash
I dont see any there at all for franks of any kind, probably because there are just too many combos out there to R&D for retail.
VAFC is very limited in it's capabilities (you can't adjust cam angles, etc). K-Pro is a fully programmable ECU which can do far more than VAFC. You can not "tune it even more" with anything else.
Could of, but more then likely the previous owner used it as a project car and was building it up to install a turbo kit but ended up running out of money.this car had a turbo in it at one point... the greddy kit calls for that aluminum isulation on those hoses by the firewall.:thumb:
:yeahthat:Secondly, I was referencing K-Pro vs VAFC...not the reflash. There is really no point to run both the reflash and VAFC (unless ofcourse you are trying to save $). But you will get more out of K-Pro then either of them or both of them together (with a good tuner).
.... I was just trying to make the TS understand that you can not tune flashes. That's it....
I just bought my son an '02 Si for Christmas. It's his dream car. He doesn't know yet... He's not getting it until Christmas morning.
I bought the car from a wholesaler that advertises on Autotrader.com. When I went to look at the car I could tell that it had been hit in the front. Someone replaced both front fenders with ones that have vents on the side. I figure that's a modification that he'll really like! There were other signs that it had been in an accident as well. But since it drove very well, looked really clean, and was bargain priced at $5995, I bought the car. The only thing I could find wrong with the car is that is seems like the sync may be going out because it makes a slight grinding noise when you shift into 6th gear. That's right... SIXTH GEAR! I came home and started reading all the reviews for the car and they were all 'glowing' just as I had expected. But it occured to me that they all mentioned a 5-speed transmission. Thinking it may have been an option, I did somo more research. Nope... not an option. Something isn't right. The motor is the 2.0, but I'm just not sure it's the right 2.0. How can I tell what the motor and transmission came out of?
Also, There is a couple of little things the car needs. It's missing the Si badge on the front grille, the V-TEC emblems on the side (since it has been repainted), and the motor cover that says v-tec. Any idea where is the best place to find these things, other than ebay? I've looked on ebay and can't find any of them except the side decals.
Thanks,
Maury
