it will be a fast civic but not necessarily a blistering fast car

its a sporty economical and reliable car... amazing choice for his first car IMO

he'll have fun but it wont be too much for him to handle

btw... need new wheels!!! (the old euro type R wheels look great on EP3s) and now since the engine is obviously quick enough... work on the handling now :D

With that combo the power should range between 190-220 hp at the wheels, the cool thing about these swaps is the Tq it makes vs stock confiiguration is alot more. That cars probably making aroun 160-170 Tq at the wheels. That car should not have a problem running low 14s in the 1/4 mile, hell even high 13s would be achievable with some practice.

Great opportunity for you and your son to work together on a car. it should be your project with him.

It was always baseball cards with my dad. we used to go to shows all over the tri-state area together and buy packs of cards then sit in the car for 2 hours and open them up in the parking lot :thumb:

i'm glad he did that, this is your chance to do the same!

i don't think with the CR that low that it would make that much HP... it would all depend on the tune of course...
K-pro on top of all this would just be too good to be true. But if it does have a k-pro, wow!
:yeahthat:
It almost has to have K-Pro. How else would you tune it.
those cars are easier to tune with set maps that are out for the k-series and Hondata...

Well, I'll figure out how to use photobucket sooner or later. What I'm trying to post is a scan of some paperwork I found in the glovebox. It's just the front page but I'm pretty sure it's what y'all are talking about. Judgeing from this, it's an '05 -'06 RSX ECU, correct? I dunno. Anyway, if someone can post that picture for me LIKE THEY DID YESTERDAY maybe it will help figure this out.
Thanks.

Maury, you should check out clubrsx.com or k20a.org. Both have many threads dealing with K20/24 franks. There are also many, many threads on K-Pro with a ton of K-Pro gurus to answer your questions. Club RSX has a great regional forum with a lot of local guys in your area that can answer your questions as well.
Not taking anything away from 8thcivic...but since K-Pro is not available for the K20Z3 as of yet you might find more help elsewhere.

I'm probably going to leave the rest of it up to my son. He's going to love this. At least I won't have to listen to him talk about how he's going to modify the car. It's already done!!! And, no, I'm not going to allow him to boost the car. Before my vette I had an '01 Stealth Twin-Turbo... I can't tell you how bad that blew my mind! When it was running right, it was a beast. When it wasn't... I was clueless. The day I sold that car was one of the happiest days of my life. When it comes to mods, I'm going to stick with a bigger carb and cam. He'll love this site and, like someone said earlier, I trust that y'all will keep in mind that he's just a kid. I don't think he'll be doing too much more to the car with exception of probably a few ugly stickers on the windows. I'm going to hold off on buying the badges and i-vtec decals. BTW, he'll probably love the fenders. haha

put the keys under the tree in a little box surrounded by bigger boxes.. :p then leave a note that to get his present he has to go outside :p
Put the keys in a small box but put that box inside of a few larger boxes to really confuse him. I am sure once he sees the keys he will know what he has to do next.
