    Suspension and Brakes
Yes, you can use them on your Si coupe :)
  2. Recommend me pads

    Suspension and Brakes
Akebono pads are always a good choice :)
  3. 2006 Civic frame rotted out - not repairable

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
If you buy another used car, buy one from the south, or the west coast, where cars don't rust Regardless of whether you buy new or used, get rustproofing done annually. Krown is the most well-known, but there are others. It's like an oil spray. Avoid thick undercoatings like Ziebart.
  4. Returning to stock si suspension from HFP

    Suspension and Brakes
All 8th gen coupes have the same suspension, shocks/struts, springs, etc. The Si sedan shares the coupe's suspension. It is only the non-Si sedan that is different. And even then, they are completely interchangeable. The only exception is the front struts, where the spring seats are different...
  5. My 07 Si Coupe needs brakes. Any recommendations?

    Suspension and Brakes
Akebono pads are awesome, but they do not include the hardware. However, I didn't find I needed any. Centric rotors are good, but Wagner recently came out with a line of coated rotors and they are awesome, too. I have the Wagner E-coated rotors and Akebono pads and they are good stuff. One...

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
    Raxles makes the best axles
  7. Manaul recommend 87 Oct will 85 do

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
In most cars today, you must use 87 octane regardless of altitude. Modern engine management can compensate for the thinner air
  8. Spark Plug Question 07 Civic Si

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
You don't have to go to the dealer to get the OE spark plugs. Rock Auto has the Denso SK22PR-M11S for less than $8 each :)
  9. 08 r18, need to replace shocks, upgrade?

    Suspension and Brakes
They actually make something called quick struts which is the complete assembly (strut, spring, and strut mount, and all the hardware) I recommend KYB Strut Plus for the front, along with KYB shocks for the rear. ANYTHING will offer an improvement over your stock--blown--shocks :)
  10. 2008 LX Suspension?

    Suspension and Brakes
There is really no need to replace the control arms unless they are damaged. Same with the sway bar. However, the bushings do deteriorate after awhile. Replace the shocks and struts when they are bad. When they stop doing their job. Or if your tires are feathered. When it is time to replace...
  11. 2008 LX Suspension?

    Suspension and Brakes
I would suggest KYB Strut Plus. IN fact, KYB is the OE supplier and made the original shocks and struts on the car now :) Gabriel Readymount is a good price at Rock Auto. There is also Monroe's quick struts. Any of the three will serve you well.
  12. Valve Cover Gasket Replacement?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
There is no set interval on replacing the valve cover gaskets. Simply replace them when they are leaking :) Get the Beck/Arnley brand from Rock Auto. It is the actual OE gasket, and includes the spark plug tube seals. Again, they are the actual OE seals.
  13. 08 Si stays on with key out of ignition

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Are you the original owner? Or did you buy the car used? You're not really supposed to install remote start on a manual transmission, but that doesn't stop people from doing it anyway. +1 came here to say this
  14. Pad/Rotor Question

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Replace the pads and rotors. Turning them is too much effort and costs the same as new ones anyway. 87k is a lot for having the original rotors, plus they've already been turned before (which removes some material) For the pads, get either Akebono ProACT or EBC Ultimax For the rotors, get...
  15. Bad Rear Caliper?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Does she use the parking brake? Non-use of the hand brake can seize rear calipers. I recommend coated calipers, so that they don't rust. Cardone Ultra and Napa Eclipse are the best ones to get. Speed bleeders are also good to have, too. They make bleeding the brakes very easy :)
  16. Brakes And Rotor Recommendation

    Suspension and Brakes
Akebono ProACT pads and Wagner E-coated rotors
  17. Knock Sensor Problem?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
aaah, it's supercharged, so modded, not stock Has it been doing this as long as you had the supercharger installed? Or is this jsut a recent issue you're having. How long has the supercharger been on the car?
  18. Knock Sensor Problem?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
It probably is something else Do you experience any other driveability issues? Does the car run rough or anything? Is the wiring leading up to the knock sensor in good shape? Is your car an Si and you're running regular?
  19. Time for new suspension on the 2008 Mugen! Help!

    Suspension and Brakes
I just did some research on the OEM Mugen shocks, and it appears that the $500 front struts are complete assemblies, including the mount and spring. 51601/51602-XVJ-000 I found this page with the Mugen suspension parts list. For reference, the OEM complete assemblies for the DX/LX/EX from the...
  20. Knock Sensor Problem?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Did you buy OEM knock sensors every time? Or did you use cheap Chinese aftermarket sensors?
