  1. AC barely cooling, turned on heat, then AC again and it's really cold! What is happening?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
The OP said the compressor was on so removing shims would not have changed his situation. I do agree on a high mileage setup removing a shim or two will certainly help give you a bit more service life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. AC barely cooling, turned on heat, then AC again and it's really cold! What is happening?

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Your blend door motor likely is going bad as well as your blower motor may be ready to go. Blend doors select between heat or cold. If they are not working it will blend in heated air into the cold air and result in poor performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Car won't start after clutch job

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Likely. Verify you have a good ground strap from the frame to transmission and from frame to battery. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Car won't start after clutch job

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Power train control module fail. Likely from harness that may have been damaged when doing the job. Verify all connectors are back where they belong and more importantly verify the pins are straight and not bent. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Transmission not shifting into drive

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Blinking D is normally an error code for Honda transmissions. You need to have a scan tool to read the error code. Likely a bad sensor or solenoid. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
My best guess - Yes. Could be control panel inside but doubtful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
If your interior blower isn’t working the expansion valve will attempt to restrict fluid flow from the compressor. That is why the pressures climb rapidly and the high pressure cutoff switch kicks in and the compressor and condensing fan outside shuts off. Agree a condenser fan failure will...
  9. No power at all, healthy new battery

  10. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
If the fan will not blow the compressor pressures will climb to the point that a safety pressure switch should turn off the compressor. It’s doing that to save the compressor from damage. Fix the fan and it should resolve this. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
I’d purchase a new blower wheel motor. It’s not that difficult to replace. About six screws and a simple connector. Mine acted same way. Worked for a while but ultimately quit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. 08 FG2 idle noise

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Temporarily remove the serpentine belt and start it. If no more noise then you know it’s narrowed down to water pump, ac, idlers, etc... If noise still present then it can get tricky. Could be chain tensioner. Known issue on high mileage motors. Recommend new chain and guides plus new OEM...
  13. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Is the blower on inside? If no then could be relay but more likely a bad fan motor. I had to replace mine on a 2008. If it’s blowing but no air is reaching the vents see if the floor vent is moving air. Could be a blend door motor. Since if was sudden likely not a dirty fresh air filter but...
  14. A125 Service-Dealership or trusted mechanic for Civic LX 2009 110k

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Good trusted mechanic should be more than capable. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Oil cap broke and a piece fell in the engine

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Try to use a small fiber like endoscope to see where the piece went. They are not that expensive. Harbor Freight even sells one. If not up for that yes pull valve cover. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Replace half the AC system, but still have problems

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
I replaced the evaporator out of caution. If you replace the expansion valve you have to remove all the blower assembly and is not a task you want to repeat. A new evaporator is cheap insurance. At minimum your mechanic should have flushed your old one and then blew it out with compressed air...
  17. Replace half the AC system, but still have problems

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Did he consider replacing the evaporator? They often visually look ok but if your fresh air filter was really bad it can transfer lots of dirt to the evap. Small things also matter like how well was the expansion valve insulated. I use a rubber like dum-dum material to insulate it. How well...
  18. AC problems

If you over charged system with Freon they will act this way. You have to follow the recommendations or it will not perform. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Replace half the AC system, but still have problems

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Who did the work? Check to make sure your condenser fan and the radiator fan both come on when the AC is enabled. The odd thing is if drivers side is colder than passenger... I’m not sure if your model has auto setting with a blend door motor. If it does ( I have no idea if it was an option in...
