  1. Brake grinding noise on Honda Civic 2010 LX

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
It would be better to remove the wheels and clean the rotors and calipers. I would also like to suggest that you check the wheel bearings. Put the car on a jack / lift and check all wheels for any shake or noise while rotating them hard with your hand. But most of the times if the wheel bearing...
  2. A/C not cold

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
If the condenser which is in front of the radiator is dirty, it'll affect the cooling So try cleaning it with pressurized air followed by a pressure wash. You can also check if the AC fan is working at full speed. Sometimes when the fan motor becomes weak, the fan speed reduces which will...
  3. Brake grinding noise on Honda Civic 2010 LX

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
From the video, the cause of noise seems to be because of dirt and muck accumulating between the pads and rotors. During car wash, when the tyre well is washed, the dirt and mud accumulated there spills on to the rotors and pads an they too should be washed properly. Rust on the rotors is common...
  4. Engine knock under load

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
From what you've stated, I believe you may need to change the piston rings. The carbon buildup and oil in the plugs points to that. This would definitely caused engine knock. Also clean, check and replace the spark plugs if necessary. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk
  5. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Before trying to replace the blower motor my suggestion would be to check the AC switch or the auto climate control switch on the dash control panel. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk
  6. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
You need to check 2 things. 1. In the engine bay you can see 2 fans. One is the radiator fan and the other is the AC condenser fan. If the engine is running then the radiator fan alone should switch on. If you switch on the AC, both the radiator and condenser fans should start working together...
  7. Ac not turning on

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
You are partly right in saying this but it is not the blower fan but the condenser fan in the engine bay that causes this issue. If the condenser fan doesn't work then there will be no proper heat exchange and the freon pressure increases and so the compressor is cutoff. Sent from my SM-A505F...

Please check the 2 O² sensors on the exhaust before and after the cat. And also check if the cat is working fine. How's the cranking, especially during cold starts? If its longer than normal then you may need to check the crank position sensor. And what mileage has the car done? Sent from my...
  12. Replace half the AC system, but still have problems

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
Since you say that the AC blows cold during night times and cooler days but not when it is hot outside or parked in the sun, the below are the possibilities. 1. Check the evaporator/cooling coil under the dash as suggested in the earlier post. If it is very dirty or at times there's a gel type...

Scan the ECU for any codes before changing any parts. To start with, check and clean the air filter, MAF sensor and throttle body since you are using a high air flow aftermarket filter. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk

Not required. Try changing the bearing alone if it is faulty. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk

They are call coil assistors and they come in both rubber and silicon. I'm already using solid rubber ones for my rear and silicon ones for my front. They've improved the ride quality by a great deal and also prevent my rear from squatting too much especially when I've 2 people sitting in the...
