  1. Plasti Dipped the Civic

    Introduction & Pictures
Looks like an army issued Civic haha, nice work though especially at that price point and time spent.
  2. Secret to getting high mpg

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
After 10 years I was getting about 100KM less per tank than when the car was new so something was definitely bogging down the efficiency. I suspected new spark plugs/wires would be the most help as they were still the original ones and all of my filters were fine. If you often have passengers...
  3. 2007 Civic SI 3rd gear

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
It's nothing to worry about, just need to get used to it. My '07 Si had the same problem (tons of them did). There was never an official fix that I know of, some 'fixes' were either temporary or just a placebo effect at best. Most dealers will just dismiss it with 'unable to reproduce customer...
  4. Did This Kickstarter Company Just Reinvent The Wiper Blade?

    Vendor Deals
In my experience the windshield gets chipped/pitted/uneven way before the OEM blades wear out, and that's what causes all of the streaking. But perhaps the flat surface on these blades will help somewhat, at least they're trying.
  5. What is this for?

    Civic Coupe And Sedan
I believe that goes up to cover the subwoofer inside the trunk, on the underside of the back deck, those 4 tabs just push into place.
  6. Interior lights! I need recommendations.

    Lighting, H.I.D.'s, & Neon
One 5 pack of these and they'll blow your retinas out: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00IXD7GOE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They'll fit your map lights, dome lights, and trunk light with one to spare! Wicked price too.
  7. When to Sell

    Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat
For me I sold as soon as rust started forming around a wheel well, only to the point where I knew it was there and that it would be visible on the outside within a year. This was about a month ago that I traded in my 07 Si, I was probably looking at about $1000 in routine maintenance and then be...
  8. Is this forum dying?

    Water Cooler
Just picked up my 10th gen Si black coupe a few weeks ago (then buggered off to Spain for vacation). Now I'm back and ready to start a whole new modding adventure with another great Civic. Those forums are very active so I have a lot of reading to do too!
  9. Is this forum dying?

A headlight restoration kit should clean up those hazy headlights for ~$20, way cheaper and easier than new headlights. And if you ask me, you're fortunate to not have that soul stealing Facebook, haha.
  10. Who's still here? Check in!

    Garage
I'm kinda still here, hoping to move to a Type-R next year and sell my 07' Si for $10K. Saw my first new 2017 Si coupe in person yesterday, kinda fell in love.
  11. Show off the FRONT of your Civic

    Inside and Out
    Still glowin'
  12. Honda to Spawn More Civic Type R Variants?

    8thcivic.com Site News
That's good news, I would love to combine the toned down look of the Si coupe with the power of the type-r, hopefully that recipe is on the table.
  13. Changing Civic LX color to Yellow

    Inside and Out
Generally a paint job is $1000 per year you want it to last, so you'd be looking at ~$3000. Google images has quite a few yellow 8th gens, they look quite nice.
  14. Very hazy headlights

    Inside and Out
You need something gritty to sand it down (baking soda won't do squat for grit), a restore kit will have exactly what you need. Mine were half way to how bad yours look and now mine look sparkling clear from the restore I did 2 years ago. I still have my kit for next time, it's a cheap and easy...
  15. 08 civic si switched to premium gas (93). mileage dropped and check engine light on

    Forum Threads
The previous owner may have lied to make the sale, there was probably a lot of knocking until something compensated to stop it (hopefully the ECU, and not damage). Yes, clear that ECU, the engine is stock tuned for 91 octane, running anything lower or higher is asking for issues.
