08 r18, need to replace shocks, upgrade?

My 08 bottoms out on just about every bump I hit. I need to replace shocks.

Can someone give me the run down on what components need to be replaced (shocks, struts, springs?) and is there something I should go with that will offers an improvement in handling over stock?

This is just my DD, but I’ll be stuck with it for a while so I’m considering doing some mild upgrades for a bit more fun on the street.

They actually make something called quick struts which is the complete assembly (strut, spring, and strut mount, and all the hardware)

I recommend KYB Strut Plus for the front, along with KYB shocks for the rear.

ANYTHING will offer an improvement over your stock--blown--shocks

Replacing the struts and shocks is pretty straight forward.
Just pickup or borrow a set of coil compressor to disassemble the struts and you are good to go.
Be mindful of the struts mount orientation when removing and installing them.
If installed incorrectly, you will know it from all the clattering and popping noises lol

So quick recap:
Replace strut mounts
Replace struts
Replace rear shocks
Replace front and rear sway bar end links since you are doing the shocks, they wear out at the same rate of the shocks.

I would suggest KYB for replacement as they are OEM spec’d and provides a tiny upgrade factor.

i have an HFP kit form my 08 r18 that has a little less than 20K miles on it. $250 if you are interested. mine was a 2 door. i took it off to replace with a megan racing coilover set up. you wont have to worry about a spring compressor and it upgrades the suspension beautifully! i need to clear out some old parts so please buy these and my wife will be happy! lol

Fasto82 I believe the coupe will not fit my FA5 ? if it does what’s the difference in spring and shock set from an SI ? Mine has 208k and looks to be original or Oem replaced.... I’d be interested in said parts if you ship to 27571 NC ? Not trying to thread bust either...
