new 205101 036 6 CLIP, TRIM (7MM) 1.34 *6
total 98

then as most people get aftermarket alarms just get one with a button for the trunk release or if you want the oem one the controller i think would be probaly around another 50 or so but still worth it in my mind
You don't need the hinges (they're the same, just the LX doesn't have the covers like the EX), springs (the weight added by the electric trunk release is minimal), or clips (they only hold the trunklid trim, which the LX doesn't have). But, you do need a way to get power to the new electric trunk release.

Hello,
Could use some help on this.

Currently have a Viper 4140 remote starter. I want to utilize the aux key for the trunk release.

From the pictures in this post, it looks like the EX and LX models latches have interchangable plugs for the lock wiring, am I correct?

If so, it sounds like power is missing. If thats the case, is it possible to run a new pin to the harness and then run it back to the fuse panel?

Should the wire be 12 guage and 30 amp to power the actuator? Would I also have install a relay and where does the red/white wire from the starter connect? I imagine it has to go the the trunk release or tap in somehow.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Remote trunk release

Hi all, I am also interested in the idea of remote trunk release for 07 Civic LX, I have a compustar alarm system that has auto start, alarm. The only thing missing is remote trunk release, so I want to intergrate that to compustar alarm system.

Does anyone know which Honda part number/price for remote trunk release solenoid ?
-and what other part that is necessary to to this installation ?

I did the rig. Make sure you get the trunk release part specific to coupe or sedan. I ordered the wrong one and had to grind it down. The dealership may had spare wire terminals laying around ( got mine for free) then you need a honda wire terminal for the alarm trigger. I bought an expensive bag, and sell you one at cost. Real simple install.

So it shows "trunk lid". I tried to click on your link but could not really
indentify the part that I need which is "trunk release solenoid".

Honda doesn't call it a "solenoid" use part 74851-SNA-A22 for a 4 door sedan.

Trunk poper

whats the hell, Richmond (BC) Honda charges $94.04 plus taxes for the part number 74851-SNA-A22, the idiot claims that its for 2008 Civic EX.

Your link provided charges $43.99.

Whats a fu..ing ripp off from Richmond Hond.

Now next part I would have to work/find on:

-order it (when I m sure its going to work on my 07 LX).
-what gauges/type of wire from this trunk release to CompuStar brain ?
-any other part beside just a wire.
-any fuse involve from this wire ?
-Void warranty on my CompuStar system.

Does anybody have any idea to chime in ?
