RC fuel injectors. What's the problem?

I currently have a new set of RC 750cc injectors. I was going to use them when I eventually add my twin screw supercharger. I have seen half of the people having unspecified problems and others not having any problems. To those who had or have them and are unhappy with them, what was the issue? I've seen a lot of people having problems with the O rings not fitting properly; but that could be attributed to installation error. Aka: not enough lubrication.

Please be specific. No unfounded, subjective complaints. "They're crap" doesn't tell us anything.

Get them flow tested and you will be fine. Most people are too lazy or cheap, don't get that done, and then blame rc.

I have RC 750cc injectors because a friend was a dealer and I paid quite a bit less then other companies injectors. At the time I didn't know anyone had issues with them. I was setting up for my JRSC install. I know nothing about injectors but my other honda friends had used them in builds for older civics and integras.

So back to my story, after buying them I started reading bad things. It freaked me out a bit. I then emailed my tuner, Corey at Slowmotion Motorsports, asking what they thought. He said hes tuned many cars on RC injectors and never had trouble and said we will see what happens on my tuning day.

So I went in for my tune and all went well with no trouble and it eased my mind. With just injen cai kidd racing header and WSII 2.5 inch exhaust I made 286whp 197wtq on a Dyno Pak. Not a single fuel issue.

So I can tell you from my situation there is no problem with using these. Again I don't know much about it but it worked for me and saved me a few bucks.

The only issue I do have is on cold starts if it has sat for more then a couple days it will start and bog down and stall once but the next try gets going right away. Not sure if thats injector related or not.

RC injectors have a horrible flow pattern and very poor atomization. On top of that, they do not have any real latency and flow information, which is HUGE when dialing in the perfect tune for optimal closed loop performance. 99% of "t00ners" are idiots and have no idea the impact all that has on vehicle performance.

Will the car run with them? Yes. Will it run WAY better with modern injectors? Very much so.

Can RC injectors be tuned really well so a monkey can put his foot down and run the 1/4 mile? You bet. Can RC injectors be tuned to "so-so" perform during normal day to day driving? Sure. Are there other injectors that fit the monkey driving the 1/4 mile category but ALSO provide SUPERIOR normal day to day driving over the RC injectors? You bet there are.

Stop putting garbage injectors into your cars.

No offense, but I would have to see some solid evidence to believe this.

Vit's reply is as solid as the ground you're walking/standing/sitting on atm. Listen to him, or don't - your choice.

But it would behoove you to take him seriously.

I am extremely offended. I see all kinds of injectors every single day and I am intimately familiar with the nuances of each kind (I have run RC's, DW's, GO Power's, ID's, FIC's, Precisions, etc).

Not only is the evidence blatantly obvious in the way the car drives (and the datalogs), the evidence of actual flow testing is all over the place. RC injectors are horrible.

Here is one, since you don't know how to google:

RC injectors (note you can even see they are rc's)

ID 2k':

Notice a difference? THe RC's spray as 2 jets, which is HORRIBLE for fuel delivery, atomization and closed loop performance. The jets also get worse and worse as fuel pressure goes up. The ID's come out as a nice mist and only get more of a mist as fuel pressure goes up. This is what you need for optimal combustion in the cylinder. Two water hoses spraying into your cylinder is absolute fail.

If you want to run sh!t injectors, I don't care. You get to deal with the BS and I just go on with my life 'ing

Haha You really do take offense.

I can definitely see the difference. I also see a difference running a tubular manifold vs a log manifold. I see a sheer difference running a journal bearing turbo vs a ball bearing turbo. I see a difference running fuel injectors compared to carbeuration. I could go on and on - if money was no object I would indeed invest in the best money has to offer. Unfortunately, and for most disposable incomes are not unlimited.

I do admire your experience and knowledge, it comes second to none.

Will RC injectors destroy a vehicle? No. Will your car run the best it can on different injectors. Sure will, but how many other parts are needed to run absolutely perfect? Your budget is the only thing holding you back. Op can make his own decision about whether its devastating to use an RC injector but my car runs perfect and has for 2 years now and I consistently get 30mpg. If spending an extra 200 on injectors would yield a solid return on investment maybe I'll make the switch.

The cost between RC & ID's/FICs/GP is negligible. So why not choose a version of the Bosch EV14? (i.e. - ID/FIC/GP injectors)

At least thats the way I see it.

The cost between the two injectors is negligible. I've run all kinds of injectors, and have had customers switch from RC's to a Bosch EV14, there is a difference, especially in how smooth the car drives at part throttle.

If you just don't care, then run whatever you want. Or you can just do it right the first time. You aren't driving a beater EG.

So basically it is just safer to run a better injector? I don't know anything about injectors I just heard bad things after I already got them.

Also which injector is the best for the money in your book based on tuning experience?

Yes I do.

If you're bolding Grahams you might as well bold GO Power and FIC. The Grahams injectors being put out recently are the same body and the same damn injectors GO Power has been selling for quite some time.

But I know you have nothing better to do, so have at it, let's see how fast you can end up on the ban list.
