I went to arglye for a year...

the west van cops are brutal. I have been taken out of west van twice for being drunk in public, they load you into back seat, drive to border of west van/north van by the green bridge and tell you to never come back. Mind you this was 8 years ago.
I am a much better behaved person now.

so how different is this from double-clutching gearing down? same thing ain't it? matching revs?

double-clutching goes like this:

(say you're in 4th gear going to 3rd)

1. clutch in + brake
2. gear lever to neutral
3. clutch up
4. blip throttle
5. clutch in
6. gear lever to 3rd
7. release clutch

heel-toe is:

1. brake
2. clutch in while continue braking, gear down to third
3. rotate right foot (ball of foot on brake, heel blip throttle)
4. clutch up

so you can see, there are a lot of simultaneous actions with heel-toe, but double-clutching is more sequential. both are super hard to master, but very rewarding and easier on the car overall. i can do heel-toe, but not double-clutching.

i'm pretty good with double-clutching, but i haven't tried heel-toe. what i was wondering was, do they do the same function?

take the first 1000kms easy (below 4000rpm for Si's, probably lower with R18s).

Heel-toe is used for hard cornering. when you need to brake hard into a corner, and accelerate hard out of a corner, you need to heel-toe. the basic idea is that you can brake while downshifting to set you up for the exit (to accelerate out of a corner). you should be heel-toeing before you apex a corner to keep your car balanced (because hard braking + cornering already preloads your front suspension, you don't want to add more stress to your tires too).

Like I said in the spotted thread. "I meet guy at the dealer with a EX. Told him about the forum and the cruise. He said that he would ckeck it out. Happy days, I think I smell another member."
