Toyo vs Michelin vs Nexen Tires

I'm in the middle of choosing tires for my Acura CSX. It has 16" and the size is 205/55/16. Will 215/55/16 or 215/50/16 fits my car?

I'm considering the grip (wet, dry, vancouver light snow), handling, comfort, noise and wear.

Which one do you think is the best of all:

Toyo Proxes 4
Toyo Proxes ST
Michelin MXV4 Plus
Michelin MXV4 S8
Nexen CP641

Thanks

both those Michelin's belong to their energy line which is being discontinued and being replaced by the better primacy line which actually carries a mileage warranty. michelin makes the best IMO

I have owned the Michelin MXV4 Plus and the Toyo Proxes 4. They were both very good tires. The Michelins were on my old 318, and the Proxes were on my 06 Civic. The Michelin MXV4's get a lot of bad talk, but I thought they were great.

Both did really well in light snow, rain, and dry. The Proxes did seem to wear a little quicker, but they are more of a "performance" tire than the MXV4's.

I would stay away from Nexen. I had a set of the N3000's on my 06 Civic before the Proxes. They had sidewall bubbles within a month of owning them. You get what you pay for though, and especially with tires.

I have the Proxes 4's on right now, and they're just ok. The tread pattern looks pretty sick, but that's the best thing I can say about them. I think they're a little less sticky than the stock all seasons, which I actually liked. Also, all season is a lie. These tires can't grip in snow AT ALL. They're barely better than straight up summer tires. If you get snow in your area, you'll want to steer clear. I've had them on for 12,000 miles, and getting ready to replace them since they're almost down to the wear bar. Keep in mind, this is with 1 track day and 2 autocrosses on them. I'm looking at some Kuhmo's for my next tire.

I have the oem summer tire, michellin pe2 (i think) and they are great. they have little road noise, and seem to grip wheel in heavy rain. they are super easy to swipe in dry conditions though. They wear has been average.

Neither of these are being discontinued. They are both used as Original Equipment fitments on various vehicles. Tires are only discontinued when they are no longer being supplied to the manufacturer. Now the logical Michelin recommended replacement for a discontinued OE fitment would be the Primacy MXV4.

That being said I would not buy either of them. If you want Michelin stay away from the OE tire lines, they do have some great tires. Even if they are overpriced.

Personally I would look at a Bridgestone Turanza Serenity and a Kumho KH16. Neither of which are on your list but in the same price range.
