15 vs 17 tire prices
Did you guys notice that 17 inch tires cost almost twice as much as 15 inch rubber?
Im not sure if i want to spend 800 bucks after taxes for my next set of tires. Has anybody else thought about going with a super highend 15inch tire rather then a subaverage 17 incher |

If you have an Si 15" isn't really an option. Not too many downsize to 16 but a few do.
Downsizing in diameter is somewhat common with autocrossers as a way to cut down on rotational mass and to save some money on expensive performance tires. Also the smaller the diameter of the wheel typically you will want a taller sidewall as a result. Taller sidewalls means more flex which is detrimental to handling.
