How are Rotas?

How are those Rota wheels? The price is really good, and they don't look too bad, but how is the quality for those of you that own them? I've heard good things about Rotas, yet I hear alot of people criticize them harshly...

It's mostly due to a few isolated incidents in which they buckled/broke. However, they are a very cost-efficient wheel.

Not as baller as higher end stuff, but still good enough to roll on.

Rota's seem to be a good bang for your buck. Ive been debating about picking up a set. Which one's are you looking into?

Rotannihilated!!

Just kidding. Not knocking on Rotas or anything. If anything, it's just like what Izzy said:

Yep. But I'm sure for daily driving, Rotas would be sufficient for your normal commute to work/school/house/grocery store and back. Not sure what kinds of experience people have had with using them as track/autoX wheels if anyone has ever used them for such purposes.

I have rotas, no problems past year so far. Its just great for the price, and the people that hate it because they do copy the style of other manufactures. Rotas you pay $600... the person buying some real wheels would be paying 2k +. Rotas are really popular on other car forums like subaru etc.

btw, those breaking happen along time ago with the first batches

How is the paint on them? I cheaped out on some Konigs and now I'm regretting it, all the paint is just flaking off them w/out ever being curbed

It's only the high end wheel whores that hate on Rotas. I was thinking about getting some Rotas, but ended up going with Team Dynamics.

I had Slips on my EP3 for over 3 yrs without any issues & would get asked all the time if they were SW388's. I answered honestly everytime because the cost for a set it would only cover for about 1.5 SW388's.

I'm really liking the SVN(RE-30) but they are available in only one color(matte steel gray). Why can't they come in a flat black?

Hell, for the price of Rotas, just spend a little more and get them powdercoated.

I'm thinking more like rattle-can & clear matte finish.

I already have Traklites on my car but I the RE-30's & the SVN looks really similiar to them.

The paint on my Rotas is quite durable. Unless you are a fool and beat them with your tire iron, back into them with a car, or hand them over to a particular body shop in Richmond... (all of which have happened to mine...)

Then again the body shop screwed up the reapplied powdercoat.

Honestly though I have been pretty happy with how they've held up. That and I'm pretty happy with how close I park to curbs and still manage to avoid them.
