Just ordered my WORKS~!

NEW PICS ON PAGE 2

So Z1 hooked me up with a nice little set of Bronze WORK CR-Kais, 18x7.5 w/ +42 offset today!!

However, now my bank is hurting and i still need to order some tires... at the moment i REALLY can't spend more than $100ish per tire, so I've been looking into my options. Not sure if i should just get a really cheap tire for now, and upgrade later, or get a somewhat decent tire that will not need upgrading for awhile.. going with 225/40/18 for the size most likely

Any recommendations? I've been looking at the Kumhos on tirerack and saw the Kumho Ecsta SPT for $95 each. Which Kumhos would be best for me? or other brands? I have to head out for now so i'll do some more research later, but i had to post something, too excited!

This is my car as is today:

edit: my friend suggested THESE cus they are so cheap, but i've never heard of them, any thoughts?

update: So I've been looking at the Kumho Ecsta SPT for $95ea. on tirerack and they seem to be a good fit. Also I looked up the Sumitomo HTR Z II for $89ea. on tirerack and they seem alright as well.... anyone have experience with these tires? good or bad lets hear it!

Those Nankangs will probably last you a year tops and pretty much worthless so its pretty much a waste of money. I would suggest Neogens. They are roughly around $110 per tire. A little over you budget but a lot of people likes it including me.

nice choice of wheels. i used to have nankangs when i had my old car, surprisingly they handled really well. of course my old car did not handle nearly as awesome as the si. i had them on my wheels for 2 summers with no issues and sold them when i sold the wheels. funny because i had a different set of wheels originally and had two blow outs with pirelli's

Really??? My Nankang on my 7thgen lasted me 1 year. My pirelli's on the other hand lasted. I've had them for over a year and I was still looking new but didn't get to experience the full life because I traded in my 7thgen for my SI.

The SPT's are nice, last a good while and are quiet. I like Tire Rack, but my girl just got the SPTs from Discount Tire Direct for $394 shipped for all four....225/40/18's. We called them on the phone and they offered that price.

Yeah, check out Discount Tire Direct. You can get the Neos or the SPTs for around $500 shipped. You can also get the SPTs at TireRack for around $500+ shipped

I think I've decided on the Kumho SPTs. I can get them from Tirerack for $416 shipped, so i printed out the checkout page, and tomorrow morning I am going to my local Discount Tire because I have a $25 off a set of 4 tires coupon, and I'm going to see if they can beat my $416 price, because right now they are only offering $104 each on their website, versus $95 each on tirerack. So i'll find out tomorrow!

You are kind of in a loosing battle. Because regardless, Discount Tire will match that price. But if they are matching, they are going to match apples to apples. Meaning a one time flat rate fee for installation. That means no lifetime services or any type of warranty. The extra $10 gets you the rotation, rebalancing, flat repairs, and a free pro-rated road hazard warrenty. The extra $10 you would pay if you went threw discount tire would probably be worth it IMO. Just an FYI
