does anyone have this problem with the back wheels?
I upgraded to 18inch rims and a 225/40 tires. After i put them on i noticed that the back wheels are bowed inwards. I took the car up to the place where i got an alignment done and they said it is normal and no way to fix it.
They did say tho that my tires will wear quicker on the inside tread. Anyone else have this problem. |

You can deffinitly use a camber kit without lowering the car but it's totally up to you, it won't do any damage if you choose not to get the kit but just like the mechanic said you'll wear the inside thread quicker on the rear tires. Just rotate your tires a little more often if you don't want to get a camber kit, that should prolong your tires.

Even a new stock Si will wear the inside treads of the rear 17" tires. I read somewhere in another post here, that Honda is correcting this on the non-Si models. Meaning less camber and less handling ability compared to the Si with its inner rear tire premature wear. Oh well!

For, SI's, the stock rear camber is "suppose" to be -0.5 or -0.45 I believe (From the owners manual. Not sure which one). When I had my first alignment, I was at -1.5. I guess its pretty normal that the SI has that much rear negative camber. And that -1.5 is still with in "factory spec". And yes, they can not adjust the camber with the stock arm. You need the rear camber arm to correct the camber. BTW, I have FA5. I don't know if its the same for FG2.

Since when is some camber a problem?
The Si is spec'ed for some rear camber and toe in. Going to a wider rear just makes it more visible. I'm not sure how much adjustability (if any) is built in but, you could always get it re-aligned to 0. This will affect your handling though.
