ride differance between 15, 16s and 17s

is there a ride differance between 15,16,and 17s. im thinking of changing wheels but the ones that look great are mostly 17s. is there a differance as you vary tire size? i like the way the 16s on my LX sedan perform, how is the ride on 17s is it rough when you hit bumps or are they the same. also how is the road noise compared to the different tire size.i have an 09 corolla that im thinkin of swapping the steel tires out of also. im just wondering if i should buy new size tires and wheels for the vehicle. akso is there a differance in fuel ecomony when you change tire size and swap wieght.

the main difference is when you go with a lower profile tire
there is less tire thickness to absorb bumps so more of it go to the suspension

Yeah, there is a difference in the ride... I went from my stock 16" rims to 18" with low profile tires. You definately feel every bump in the road especially when you hit a decent one.

As far as the fuel, I would say you might lose a couple miles to the gallon, but nothing noticable.

do you spend more gas with a bigger tire or do you save more gas.

+ all of that.

more expensive and a stiffer, more rigid ride the larger you go. but it loosk cooler and the contact patch increases

Contact patch only increases if you up the wheel width, not the wheel diameter. So, if you're going to go with a larger diameter, might as well go with a wheel width greater than stock size (>7"). The only downside to up-sizing your wheels is that with greater wheel size comes greater mass for the wheel/tire combination. I think 17" inch is a good middle ground when it comes to looks vs performance. It's going to be lighter than 18", yet still looks stylish. In some cases, I believe a 17" puts you closer to the ground too.
