New Rims! BBS RGR's

Hi all, new here to the forum, driving a nighthawk black 07 si,

I'm all ready to go ahead and purchase these rims from Tirerack.com but I'm having issues with the tire size they suggest (215/40/18):

O.Z. Ultraleggera Bright Silver Paint

For looks and for the sake of protecting these rims from run ins with the curb I want to run a 225/40/18

So I was wondering if anyone has this same setup or something similar (wheel size: 18x8 48mm offset), if so have you encountered any instances of rubbing?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. Do you think a different offest would make the 225's fit better?

Cheers!

I would run 225s if you can. Make sure to post pics when you get them on.

Hey all,

I will definitely post pics when I get them on, although it won't be for a while as I'm riding on winters right now (she likes to play in the snow)

I was also thinking about the Enkei GTC 01's, does anyone have any views on these tires as well?

So you don't think that 225's on a 18x8 wheel are going to cause issues with rubbing? I'm getting grief from the dealer and tirerack about this, but honestly there are far superior tires out there in the 225/40/18 size than there are in 215/40/18's , its quite pathetic!

thanks for your input so far

Cheers

Pic of the Ultraleggera's on an 06 Si

here's a shot of the Si with 18" ultraleggera's and I believe what looks like a 215/40/18 tire. Not bad, but I think a 225 would make it look a lot more respectable!

225/40-18 will work just fine on an Si. It has a rim width range of 7.50-9.00 and is measured on 8.00. This will give you an overall diameter around 25.1

This is the size I will be running come spring.

Well I didn't pull the trigger on the Ultraleggera's, but I did manage to snag a set of 18x7.5 +45mm BBS RGR's. The rims put a big hurt on my credit card so i wrapped them in 225 General Exclaim UHP 's to save some coin, and personally, i'm loving the look of these babies. The countdown is on till spring and I'll post 'em up the second they are on, so damn psyched

ps. gonna snap a pic tomorrow
