I am running a +32 offset on a 17 x 8 with 215/45/17's

At my height I couldn't get away with 225/45's without rubbing a lot. And even with 215's and a fair amount of negative camber, I rub occasioanly, but its all good.

A couple people have run 9's, but they are around +40 offsets. I don't know of anyone that has run 9.5's, but I wouldn't doubt someone has with a wide body.

What is the widest tire we can go on a Stock setup without sticking out / rubbing?


These are the rims I'm looking at getting. I have 2 choices for 18" rim sizes:
18 x 7.5 (42mm offset) with IDK tires
OR
18 x 8.5 (35mm offset) with IDK tires

I'm lowered on HFP, which would work better? I'm leaning towards 18x8.5 with 35mm offset... Thanks in advance!

What offset would be recommended if I have the HFP suspension, and what would I need if I didn't have it (stayed stock)?

I am wondering if there would be a big difference.

hfp isnt a drop. Weak offset. Stupid tire size.

Is it just a bad offset that will make the wheels looked tucked in or what? What would 48 look like?

Rota is the payless of wheels. Nothing per se wrong with them. I would personally get 35. Slap yourself if you get 48. 45 is stock.

45 is what your wheels look like now. higher the offset number the farther in, lower the offset number the more it'll sit out.

Yes it will work, but personally it is not a width and offset I would run.

Nothing is wrong with Rota's. If you don't have the money for a name brand wheel, or don't want to spend the money, there fine. People hate on them because they are inexpensive, very very common (especially in the Honda world), and there replica's of higher end wheels.

My first set of wheels were Rotas, they looked great IMO, they fit my budget (I was in high school), and I never had one problem with them. Now I'm older and making/saving more money, and I can afford something better. Not to mention if I had a tight budget on wheels, I would be more likely to buy a used set of nice wheels for around the same price and refinish them myself.

There are two factors that account for how far a wheel sticks out, or how sunken in it is. WIDTH and OFFSET.

45 is the same as stock, so the only difference is the width. So because they are a half inch wider, they will stick out a 1/4" further on either side. 1/4" on the outside half of the rim, 1/4" on the inside half of the rim.

Here is probably the only thing one needs to determine whether a wheel will fit or not, aside from reading what setups people have used in this thread.

Take the "Inner Clearance" number and the "Outer Position" number and use a RULER AND MEASURE!

18x8.5" +43 w/ Tein S-techs and 225/40/18 works. Had them put on last week and haven't rubbed yet.

I was wondering if on my FG2 (soon to be lowered with a camber kit), I could get away with some 17x8" 35mm offset wheels, with the stock 215/45/17 tires.

Will these stick out too far and prob hit the fenders?

Yeah occasioanl rub, it's not like it happens all the time. It happens when I hit big pot hots or bumps in the road.

I am lowered on TEIN SS's and I am lower than most if not all spring drops.
