OK guys,

I am in the process of possibly purchasing 17x8 rims. I would like to know if 225/45 would fit FA5 on HFP suspension. I kind of like the 45 series tire and would like to not run 215 on an 17x8 rim. Is that 225/45 on 17x8 rim FA5, HFP suspension just not going to work? Rims are off 2007 Acura TL.

I think it should work with no rubbing issue!

Might be pushing it. Might work. You're at the border line on this one. I know for sure someone running 18x8.5 +45 lowered in HFP with no problems. But 19 and 1.6"-2" dorp, you might run into some problems or just do some negative camber and some fender rolling.

Your tires will be a little stretched with that width so you might wanna consider 225/40/18 Not too sure about the offset since the wheels will be pushed in more inside the wheel wells. Not also sure how good that will look. I know with the 18x7.5 with +48 offset, you wont have an issue so basically from that wheel spec that I mentioned vs your wheel specs, your adding 1/2 inch in width and 2mm for your offset. So depending on the clearance of the 18x7.5 w/ +48 offset, thats how much room you have. I would suggest a lower offset.

Sorry for the confusion. I was actually stating what wheel and tire combination I'm running. It can be added to the list of known good configurations.

Hey guys I need some help. Im looking at the Tenzo Type M 18x8 +37 wheels and throwing on some 225/40/18 tires. I'll be putting the HFP suspension on my ride this weekend. Will I have any rubbing issues with this? thanks.

It will work fine. I test fit my Dad's TL-S wheels ( 17 x 8 +45 with 235/45/17 Tires) lowered on TEIN SS's (lower than HFP by a lot) and I was fine. And I am currently running a more agrressive fitment and I rub slightly.

With a 8.5" wide wheel w/ a 40mm offset you will be poking past the fender.

No you won't have any problems at all.

17 x 8 +27 is very aggresive. I am running 17 x 8 +32mm and I am lowered on TEIN SS's and it requires running a 215/45/17 and adjustable camber front and rear.

You should be alright with the HFP suspension unless you really bottom out the suspension. You would probably only run into rubbing issues with a lower drop.

Mounted my wheels today...

17 x 8 +32 with a 215/45/17. Lowered on TEIN SS's w/ currently about -1.5 degrees of negative camber up front and probably around -2ish in the back. Car awaiting alignment...
