I have Tein SS Coilovers pretty low and I want 18's, and the wheels I want are 18x7.5" with either a 35mm, 43mm or 48mm offset. I want to run wider tires, so I'm thinking 225/40/18 will be okay.
Looks like the greater the offset, the less it sticks outward, but the more it goes inward toward suspension. 48mm looks to be best for my application since after inspecting, from stock, as it sits with my drop, I barely have any room for the wheel to stick out any further without having to roll the fenders, but the rear looks like it's got plenty of space even on bumps so I'd rather it go back another 3mm than out 3mm. x_x; Playing with the calculator in the OP on the bottom of the page FTW! I doubt it. I believe k20_sdn is running a 17 x 8.5 with around a +55 to +60 mm offset and a 245 Advan tire, I honestly don't know how he isn't rubbing on the inside, but on the other hand if he isn't he has managed to clear his spoon calipers, lay more rubber on the ground, and still sit closer to the outer fender. |

i sent a message to inlinefour about the Honda Edition Time Attacks and this is what they said.
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend the Volk Honda Edition Time Attack in 18x8.5 for the 08' Civic Si and weight is 16lbs with the cost $2,700.00. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. Thought that was wider than hell, but wanted to verify fitment or see if anyone had this size wheel. Would probably have to be careful with tires. ![]() |

I myself would run 17 x 8 +38 in those wheels if I was gonna get them (or a similar width and offset in a 18" wheel if possible). Club RSX FS thread |

I am running 18x8.5 Rays Gram Lights 57F's with 225/40/18 size tires with zero problems. on a stock ride height, you wont have any problems. on eibach sportlines no problems i've read. the only time you'll run into rubbing issues on suspension is if you get the bigger aftermarket suspensions like teins. in that case, you'll have to deal with spacers or wheel adaptors to offset the wheel and give some space away from the struts/shocks. i've heard that other aftermarket suspensions that have smaller struts dont have any issues. 225/40/18 poses no rubbing issues. but 235 or 245 width, and you'll probably rub.

^^^That is true. Although 225's can fit anything from a 7.5" wide wheel to a 9" wheel, some 225's would be a mild stretch on a 8.5" wheel and although that would give you more clearance I feel like it defeats the point of putting a 8.5" wheel on your car.
On another note, this is what K20 SDN is running on his FA5. 17x8.5 +50 offset ADVAN AO48's for Rubber 245/40/17 front 225/4517 rear With Tein Flex's w/ Swift Springs. Like mentioned above, if his or anyone else's car was at stock ride height with these wheels there probably wouldn't be an issue but he is low and riding on coilovers so I really don't know how he hasn't run into clearance issues with his wheel, tire, and coilover setup. |
