I should qualify, too--7.5" is ideal for 225 width tires as you said, because it maximizes tire longevity. The general rule of thumb for the ideal tire/rim width is you take 85% of the tire width to calculate the ideal rim width (for high profile tires)

For example, 225mm width tires, the ideal rim with will be 225 x .85 / 25.4 = 7.52", or 7.5"

If you're .5" off from this it's not a big deal, but the more you go off from this, the less ideal the tire wear will be.

I want to put 19"s on my si Sedan. I don't see a fitment for that in the beginning of the thread but on tirerack and every other site it says they fit. What is my recipe?

I want it for looks not performance

My friend runs 255's on his 8 inch wide evo wheels... They bulge, but they fit.

I had 255's on a 18x8.5 in the rear. the only part I rubed on was the driver rear, the plastic peice where it covers the gas things. but I never heard any noises nor damage to the tire.

Could I get a check on

1) 18 x 7 1/2, +48 offset?
2) 18 x 8, +42 offset?

Which one is better? This is for an Si. I'm hoping to get a drop slightly lower than the HFP suspension in the future.

Why would you run 255's on the rear? I guess I should be nervous I have 255's coming in for my front

Well on an Si Couple I got this to work.

17x8 +42 255/40R17 as close as this fit is I don't think there is any room to drop. Can't wait to take this to drag.

BTW side note stock Si wheel and all season 51.5 lbs...new wheels and tires 43lbs

OK, I am trying to put Konig Hotswap's on my civic. I have an 07' Sedan Si. I have not dropped it yet, as I don't know if I should. I am putting on 19" and am trying to figure out which tires I can put on without any rub. Can anyone Help???

I'm having a hard time understanding how wheel offset works. Am I correct in assuming, the higher the offset, the further out (towards the road) the rim will be? Or am I completely misunderstanding the concept.

I plan to run 17x7 with a +50 wheel offset, I know it will fit, but I'd like it to be further out towards the road, without using spacers.

Thanks in advance.

So you're saying that the lower positive offset you run on this car, will result in the wheels being "outwards" on the car without using a spacer?

As mentioned above, I'm having a hard time understanding the basics of wheel offset.

The higher the offset, the more the wheels are inboard. You want the wheels/tires to stick out, you want lower offset.
