My bad. Full story. I had Drag Extream Alloys (came with car from dealer) 18x7.5 +45 with 225/40/18 that rubbed like a dog with its ass on the floor. I then bent one of those rims and had to get a new set. So I got Motegi Tracklite 1.0 17x8 +45 with 235/40/17 tire. So, with the new wheels, i have 1/2 more inches i can lower the car. So when my Tein Flexes get here and i lower more, the fenders will rub again so i wanted to know what to use to roll the fenders. My other post was a preemptive question so that i could take action before i lowered the car more. Good catch on that one. Sorry about the confusion. Hope this helped. I have an Si coupe.

There are picks in the Intro/Pictures forum. The title of the thread is My Si (56k need not apply) and in the wheel tire section under Old Wheels vs New Wheels. There are 9 pictures in the intro one.

Where did you get your rims from? I've been trying to find some TRAKLITE w/ Gun Metal Machined Lip but only seem to come up with 4 bolt rims.

Thanks! A bit more then I planned on spending but I suppose I gotta do what I gotta do.

Question.

I have the stock SI 17" rims. The MOTEGI TRACK TRAKLITE 2.0 are listed as:

Size: 17x8
+45mm
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:215/45-17
**Lightweight: 14.6lbs.**

I have to buy new tires to fit these don't I?

Are there any other forged rims that are this lightweight that come in 17x7?

"Rec. Tire Size:215/45-17" = Stock tire size for Si.

Volk Te-37's are forged and 14ish lbs. Why do you want thin wheels?

Those volks are like 450 a wheel aren't they? If i could afford the volks, i soooooo would have gotten those. I've been in love with TE 37 for years now. The tracklites are still forged so they are strong.

If you want to get a tire that has a different size than stock for a given wheel at the tire rack, you have to pick the tires first and then pick the wheels.

Edit: So i looked up 17" TE 37 on the Tire Rack and they are 613 PER wheel. So thats 2452 for a set before you even put tires on it. I also looked up the weight of the TE 37s and they are 15.5lbs where the Tracklites are 15lbs and they are a 1/2 in wider than the Volks.

Yeah I noticed that but got confused. How come the rim is 17x8 and yet the tires that fit them are the ones that go on my 17x7 rims?

You can run a 235 on a 8" wide wheel, A 225's side walls would lean in a bit. However a 225 on a 7.5" wide wheel fits great. Tire rack is dump some times. if you order your tire before the rim, you don't have to by a 215mm wide tire.

I wouldn't say that they're stupid. I'd say that they're playing it safe. If there's an OEM size tire that tirerack can recommend that Honda has already approved, why would they say otherwise and run the risk of being held liable?

Of course they're playing it safe. With that size and offset it would be pointless not to run a 225. Even if you were slammed it wouldn't rub on a 225.

Already edited the first post with the info.

Do you guys think I won't be rubbing if I put in a 1.5" drop if I went with some Axis Reverbs 18x7.5 +42offset wrapped with 225/40 18's?

Should work since 18x7.5 45mm offset 225/40-18 (1.4" drop) was posted as this runs without rubbin.

Camber Kit?

So i changed it to...this

NEW WHEEL FITMENT.

19x8 (+40offset) TSW vortex.
lower with TEIN SS w/2.25inches drop.

sits right with fenders in the front.
i believe the rear can go as high as 19x8.5 (+40offset)

Conclusion: 19x8 (+40offset) with 2.25inch drop will work.
Do you have a camber kit on that bad boy?

New wheel in mind...

will 19x8 work? What would the difference be between +35 vs +45 offset with this size?

For the person above me runnin' 19x8's, does your +40 offset rub?
