Tire Sizes that are OK to use...

These are the tire sizes that are okay to use if you decide to change tires/rims..

205 55 16
215 45 17
225 40 18

Sizes not recommended as of other owners experiences..

225 50 16 - (Too wide, especially if car is lowered. Will hit fender when hitting a bump)

If you have a tire size that does not work, please let me know so I can add the size. If you have a different size that does work, please also let me know so I can update the list.

225 40 18 General Exclaim UHPs do not fit, they rub in the front.

225 40 18 Falken Ziex ZE-512 fit with lots of room they are less wide then the generals

This is for a sedan...maybe the generals fit on a coupe.
Also this was with a +42 offset maybe they would fit with a +45 but it did not look like it from where it was rubbing.

so basically the three sizes i listed above will fit fine on the vehicle. Now its just a matter of choosing the right offset

and possibly the right tire as all are not created equal. Your sizes are bang on!

I understand all tires can vary slightly.. but for the most part, those sizes should work no matter what brand.. some may give more or less fitment than others.. but you should still be in the 'safe' zone.

Tire size calculator. Very handy to see what sizes are compatible with stock without affecting speedo

All I'm saying is the Generals rubbed and the Falkens have at least a half inch of room. Big difference same size.

tire size calculator may be good for getting the speedo to work, doesn't mean it will fit on your vehicle properly like in my case.

I have a civic 2006 dx-g and i am dropped 1'' (eibach pro kit springs). I bought a set of rims, 17x7, 40 mm offset, 225-45-17....No rubbing at all so the tire size is ok to use.

The stock 205/55-16 Turanza EL 400 revolves 837 times per mile, according to the Tirerack.com website. If I upsize to 215/45-17, some of the tires, such as the Pirelli Nero Zero M+S and the Bridgestone G009, revolve 847 times per mile.

Is that 10 revolution per mile difference (just over 1%) going to make a difference in the speedometer or odometer reading?

It seems that the 225/45-17 size gives a closer match to the stock Turanza's 837 revolutions/mile... but you don't recommend that size because of fitment issues?

That's weird.I have the G009's on mine and I don't notice the extra 10 revolutions.
The stock 205's are 25.02" in overall dia. the 215's are 24.74" and the 225's are 25.1" so maybe that little bit .28" makes that much of a difference.

Even in the same tire size, there seems to be a lot of variation between different tire makers in terms of revolutions per mile. At least if you look in the Tirerack.com specs and compare rev/mile. Go figure.

BTW, how do you like your G009's? Are they quiet/comfortable? How's the handling in dry/wet?

Thanks.

I like the G009's got a great deal on them.I think if I was to do it again I would choose something with better ride quality. They stand up very well in wet/dry conditions and cornering but I find them a little hard. You will definately feel the difference from stock. It all comes down to price sometimes. My suggestion spend the extra money.

I'm debating between the G009's, Pirelli Nero Zero M+S and the Avon M550, among others. Thanks for the input.

iVTEC The Perelli is a great tire too. What do you think of TOYO's?Michelin has a $100 rebate on a set of four High Performance tires.Or $75 for V-Rated if that's an option for you.Untill May 15th I think.
