Logically that would be the best size for keeping things to original height. Even a 235/35ZR18. Now thats the question. Anyone try 235/35ZR18. This size is damn near perfect height as the original stocker 215/45R17. The biggest drawbacks to either selection is selection and of course the added price.

Would 215/55/17 on the stock rim simply be too big for the wheelwell or is there a chance it'll fit?

I am runnin' 225/45/17's on the stock Si rims... No rubbing or anything...
Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S
(The tires dont come in 215)

Best all season tire I have ever used, I had them on my previous car (Audi A4 w/quattro) and decided to put them on my Si... They are an amazing tire, I have used them on ice and light snow in the Audi and they performed beautifully... In the Si I have driven' on ice and they perform perfectly (doing 30 - 35~mph)... I even came to a complete stop on the ice with no one around just to see how quickly they would stop me, I did not experience any sliding, the limited slip in the Si helps with the traction of course (when taking corners)...

They handle like you wouldnt believe, the car takes corners much faster and pulls in the corners stronger, when tested with the cars traction control left on, I noticed that the traction control did not kick on as frequently as it did with the stock all season tires (not a huge suprise really)... The tires cost a little more, but they are totally worth it... Rain, snow, summer days, these tires perform, they just flat out perform...

Review from Tire Rack
Compared to other all season tires

I just ordered a set of Rota SDX 17" wrapped in 215/45/17 falkern ZE912 tires. I have a 07 civic coupe LX. Will these tires be ok for my car? Will there be any "rubbing" issue? Sorry for the novice questions but im new to this stuff. Thanks.

Like you, I'm in need of rubber for some 18"ers. I've decided to go with the too low 225 35 18. I really would like to try 235 but fear they'll rub in the left rear and on the front. 225 35 18is a bit lower, roughly 0.4" lower on a 8" wide rim compared to the 215 45 17 stockie. Your Et 46 is a bit much. At 40, mine look like their going to be out a wee bit, 46 will be more. I've cheaped out and have gone with Avon M500. At $88 a piece in this size I couldn't resist. As long as they get good hook up traction I'll be happy. The ratings for traction are good. I'm going to keep my eye out for a cheap set of 235 35 18 to try. Hope this helps.

I think if I were to buy another set of rims I'd go with a 7.5" wide 18 and run a 225 35 18 on it. It would be just about exact stock heigth. Heck the narrower rim may even be lighter.

Thanks, but I've been told to go with 225/40/18 for 18x8 +46 and 1-1.2' drop. I hope I don't rub, lol

Hey everyone, so I've read through this whole thread, and I haven't seen anyone really answer if 235's would work?

Im wondering because Im looking at some Zenetti rims with Yokohoma tires... these ones... Yokohama AVID W4S
Because with the rims they're 235/40zR18 95w. Does anybody know if this will work? I have a stock EX Coupe, no lowering or anything, just stock height.

Thanks,
Alex

Wow.. lots of questions and no replies in this thread these days... for the record, I have 225/45/17's on my LX coupe, and they're fine ; they are chunky and look alright too. On big, long dips at high speeds though, I'm pretty sure I've heard them rub up inside the wheel well. Maybe happened twice since I've had them for over a year.

p.s. with all that rubber on the road, you might notice an increase in road noise, less grip/traction (esp in wet weather) and maybe even fuel economy.. perhaps none of these are important though.

well long story short I want to put Si brakes on my EX and would like to know if the wheels would have enough clearance. I have 17" for the summer, no problem but in the winter i go back to stock.
