What size are your rims, the min recommended rim width is 8". What is the offset? How do the tires look on the rims? Do the sidewalls bulge out? lets see a pic.

I really like 16" wheels better than 17's or 18's. I would love to have this setup on my EX sedan.

I'm stock height now, but will either go with HFP suspension or a slight spring drop of no more than 1 inch or so.

I was just wondering if any of the AutoX guys are having issues with this. I won't race, just want some meat under the car!

Thanks,
Brian

You should have no problem w/ that tire set up with the HFP suspension. I'm currently running 215/45-16 for autox and would like to move on to 225 or 235 in the near future. A sidewall of 50 seems a bit long. I'd go with 45 (or even 40 if they make them for 16s... which i doubt). I prefer quicker steering response and less lateral lean.

im so clue less on the offset thing here my tires are 225/40 R18 95H
the wheels i have are g-racing wheels 18's got them from a family friend does not seem to rub when i turn wheel both ways seems to be good clearance.. So on these wheels how do i find out what the off set is and the factory wheel offset i have a 2007 Honda Civic Ex Sedan any help please car looks sweet with them but dont wnat no performace hit or any issues
thanks 8th!
fty got this from discount tires

Tire 1 / Tire 2
205/55 r-16 (stock) /255/40 R-18

Tire 1 / Tire l2 / diffrence
sidewall height: 4.44 / 3.54 / -.90
section Width : 8.07 / 8.86 / .79
overall diameter: 24.88 / 25.09 / .21
circumference: 78.16 / 78.81 / .65
Revs Per Mile: 831.01 / 829.02 / -6.99

if your speedometer reads 65 you're going aproximately 65.55

so is this right and is it ok ??

I have TSX rims and General Exclaim 215/45/17 on my sedan and they look sweet from the side, but in front or behind the car you can't even see them! The tires look so skinny. I'm a tad disappointed from rear or front angles. What are my options to make the wheels a little wider? Can I put 225/45/17 tires on the TSX wheels? Can I add a spacer to move them out a tad?

You could put a spacer, or you could go with wider tires. Or you could do both! If you're going for the really aggressive look, you could get 25 mm wheel spacers/adapters. They're pricey, but they'll give you the look you want.

Does anyone know if this wheel and tire combo would work. Gram Lights 57pro 18x7.5 with a 40 mm offset and a 225/40-18 tire? I'm not dropped or anything yet but I plan on it. No more than an inch and a half at the most.

Yea, it just seems that the TSX rims aren't as wide, or they sit closer into the fender than every other rim I've seen, including stock. Is that the offset? Is the offset on the TSX rim less than most?

Adding these spacers (will have to see how pricey) won't affect my lugs, or anything? I saw some with SI rims and spacers speak of lug issues where the wheel loosened up over time?

I just want the tire to be as close or right at the middle edge (at least) of the fender so you see the wheel and not the inside plastic of the fender.

(update; Ah, these spacers have their own lugs)

I know my chances of getting a response are slim to none, as I should be doing my own homework, but i need some help here...

I ordered 17's with a 45 offset. Shopping for tires now. Would 225/45 work ok ? Also, how would they fit on the stock rims?

On a car with stock suspension there would be even more clearance and less chance to eventually rub??? I think that's how it would work but wanted to check with someone with more experience on plus sizing wheels. Thanks.

in order to plus size your wheels, you need to get a smaller series tire so that the overall diameter stays about the same.
for example....
stock: 17x7 w/ 215/45/17 = 24.6" overall
wider: 17x7.5 w/ 225/45/17 = 25" overall
+size: 18x7.5 w/ 225/40/18 = 25.1" overall

use this site to comapre sizes and offeset..http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

07 civic si tire size

Hi,
I have an 07 si with 225-40-18 summer tires. Can I get a set of 16 wheels from 06+ ex or accord and tires to put on just during the winter? Any issue with caliper size or rubbing?

Thank You
Jack

I'm getting a set of 97-01 prelude blade rims 16" for winter rims

I have a friend who has winter tires he was using on his IS300 that are 215/55 16

Will these be okay on a 2007 si coupe?

I'm dropped on Tein S Tech and I have 225/40/18 Toyo Prada SP2. There is a little rubbing when I hit bumps but other than that it's perfect.

16 inch on Si

I was just at the Honda dealer. They had a set of 16 civic steel wheels off of a 07 civic lx with tires for sale. Had them put on my 07 Si and the caliper had less than 1/4 inch clearance and the gap around the caliper was real close too. After looking at it they recommended not using 16's on the Si.

Hope this helps

Jack
