These Turanza's are on their last leg. I can't believe I'm only at 18,700 miles and they look so worn. I'm staying with the stock EX wheel and I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred. Have an opinion on this model of tire?

I want quite and right now the road noise is horrible. I'm also waiting on Damplifier and will be applying it to the floor. Look out for that thread, it ought to be a whopper of a project!

Can anyone tell me how far of a drop I can achieve with the 18" HFP rims w/summer tires on an Si?

I see some of you are dropping around the 1.5" mark. If one of you have a pic to show your drop with these rims, that'd be great.

Thanks.

OK Bad news. With weight on my car it rubs going over big bumps. This is with 225/45/17 on a 17x7 with 35mm rim. Im thinking the offset may be the issue now.

The offset is too low with that wide of a tire.

Would 42mm offset solve this problem.

the best tire replacement for our car (215/45/17) is 225/50/16 it only diff is .9 mile faster in 60mph and the others is 1-4 mph.

No one has commented on the road noise issue with 17"" tires,so ho is it? Is there a noticeable increase?

HOw close to the fenderwall is it? Im running 35 offset with those tires and it hits on bumps. 5mm maakes all that much of a difference

Ok just got my new tires on and wanted to add to this. I have the Tein S-Tech lowering springs, stock struts. 235/40/17 fit on the HFP rim and it only rubs in very extreme cases, does not rub while turning, turning onto a hill or anything. The only time I have heard them rub is when you are hauling ass like going down a hill and hit the bottom a little too hard and then all you hear is a little bzzz and that's it. Oh and the traction has increased dramatically. This rocks

I think you will be ok with this, because you are a size slimmer than mine but the rim is bigger and the side wall is smaller. It's probably close to the same outer dimension as mine, and I don't rub. Good luck, and let us know.
