What's the standard tire preasure for 215/45-17 tires? Is the the same as stock 30psi? Honads tecknicians are telling me to use 32psi.

When I bought the HFP wheel, not really HFP they are the Acura version.
The new sticker that came with the alloys says Front 35psi Rear 33psi
I'm running the 215/45R17 which is also on the new sticker.

i was just told when ordering my rims, to use the tire pressure found on the inside of the door in ur tires, even if they are aftermarket with a higher max psi, u dont have to keep them at the max psi, is this true??

Well I drive a CSX and the door says 32 and 32.The Acura 17" wheels say 35 and 33.

Maybe there's a tire specialist that can confirm this?I'm just doing what the new sticker says.

From past experience, optimum tire pressure varies between tire brands, car models and driving style. Even though there may be numerous 215/45/17 tires used, the sidewall stiffness varies. If you have a less rigid sidewall, like my dealer installed Dunlops (215/40/18), you can consider a bit more pressure to allow less 'give' in hard cornering. But have a stiffer feel in normal driving. Generally you get better straight line traction with a a bit less pressure - giving more road surface contact. But the tradeoff is sloppy cornering. I'm still trying to figure the best pressure to use with my Dunlops on HFP rims. The dealer recommendation is the best place to start. Just my 2 cents.

Makes sense to me.I have the BS G009 and they have a really stiff sidewall.
I think i'll just try to keep mine at 32psi all around.

does anyone know if s2000 rims would fit??? im pretty sure they're staggered so 17x7 and 17x8.5?? Also, does anyone know the slimmest tire you can fit on a 8.5 wide wheel?? the stock tires are 245's on the rears and i dont think that would fit on our civics......would it be possible to put a 225 on there as well?

you guys are both going smaller than stock. i bet your speedo says your going faster than you really are. i was thinking of getting 215/50/17's with a +40 offset. (bigger than stock) and getting tien 1.4" drop. im scared of rubbing

but i HATE wheel gap more than rubbing!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!! im dOwn to tuck my sh*t as well HAHA or leave negative camber like a racer car !!! j/k

RACE CAR spelled back wards is RACE CAR. CIVIC spelled backwards is CIVIC!!!!!

Heres comparison between stock and my new wheels with tires

Wheels: Wheel 1 Wheel 2
Wheel size 16x6.5 ET 45 17x7 ET 35
BackSpace 140 mm (5.5'') 136 mm (5.4'')
4 mm (0.2'') shorter.
Rim Lip 16 mm (0.6'') wider
Tires: Tire 1 Tire 2
Tire size 205/55-16 225/45-17
Section width 205 mm (8.1'') 225 mm (8.9'')
Sidewall 113 mm (4.4'') 101 mm (4'')
Tire diameter 632 mm (24.9'') 634 mm (25'')
2 mm (0.3%) taller.
Rim sizes 16x5.5 to 16x7.5 17x6.5 to 17x8.5
Circumference 1984 mm (78.1'') 1991 mm (78.4'')
Revs per mile 811 808.4
Speedometer Assuming that this is OEM tire and speedometer readings are correct When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.2mph (96.9km/h): 0.3% faster.
Clearance: Package 1 Package 2
Suspension Assuming that this is OEM wheel/tire and there is no any problems with clearance on both sides The same.
Fenders Package will stick out 20 mm (0.8'') farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.
Wheelwells The same.

Think this will run with no drop?
