I'm new to these cars. I wanted to know if the 235/40/18 tire will fit on a sedan with 18 X 8's and a 45mm offset (front). I was told they would but in here it looks like no one has tried this. Will it fit? If not, will I have to roll the fenders in with the rolling machine? I just want a bit more protection on my lip with more sidewall.

Thanks for any advise...

235-40-18's in the front with 18x8 with a 45mm offset worked---NO RUBBING!!!
235-35-19's outback with 19x8.5 with a 45mm offset worked---NO RUBBING!!!

Did you check if it would rub when you are turning and hitting a bump? That's when most find out the tire they have is too big. I don't understand why everyone wants such wide tires on their wheels. 235 seems a bit much on a 8 inch wide wheel. The tire measures 9.25" wide man.

215-225 are prime tires for 7"-8" wide rims.

for that flush look you need the off set between +30mm - +35mm, it also depends on the width of the rims

225/40/18 or 235/40/18 depending on how wide you want to go. Also make sure the wheel you get is 5x114.3.... 5-100 won't fit

You should look for anything sub 40. But be careful. I think the lowest someone ran was +32?

To be honest I'm not sure what the offset is..

No I do not have a drop though.. everything in that area is stock.

For some reason it doesn't show the 18's or the 17's on the R1 Website.. so I'm not sure what the offset is. Will the 225 40 18 work though and look good?
