16 or 17? which one will give me better comfort ride?

i used to have 16's ex oem wheels, but since after i change my wheels to 17s i feel that my car has lost the ride comfortability, i can feel the small bumps n holes in the streets. does it has something to do with wheels? or tires? now im planning to go back to 16's.... rsx oem probably..

Mostly has to do with the tires. Generally speaking, the larger the sidewall on the tires, the more comfortable the ride.

Of course, 16" wheels would give you more comfort... bigger sidewall = more flex. Different tires have different stiffness sidewall as well... even they are the same size.

i was thinking of going back to 16's or changing my tires to 215/40/17 on 17x8. changing my tires to that size will make it worse?

Why would you change to a smaller tire size when you're not happy about ride comfort? 215/40/17 is a bad idea all around.
